Until recently a tiny fishing village, Hurghada is now a major Red Sea resort, renowned for world-class scuba diving and other aquatic adventures. Dahar, Hurghadas old town centre, features a bustling bazaar, traditional Egyptian cafés, and street vendors selling everything from snacks to Bedouin crafts. Dahar's main mosque was a gift from Saudi Arabia.
