Sat slightly above the boardwalk, close enough to see all the sights (most from our room or the balcony that wraps around) but far enough away to be quiet and away from the crowds.
Great overnight stop although we wished we could have stayed longer.
Nice to have breakfast included as well as the wine and cheese in the evening, very welcome after a car journey.
The pier is less then 10 minutes walk and has a huge selection of restaurants to choose from and our selection, Fire Fish Grill, was great food and at reasonable prices.
Check out the sea lions along the pier, great entertainment!

The only thing even remotely wrong with this place is the lack of air condition in the room. It is incredible otherwise, and given the weather is typically more moderate it's likely not an issue most times of the year.

The Inn is perfectly located in Pacific Grove at the corner of Forest and Pine. It's two blocks from Lighthouse Avenue and Pacific Grove's central shopping and dining area. Walking distance to practically everywhere and everything--including the Monterey Bay Acquarium. Get on Forest and it's a straight shot out to California 1 and points south (eg, Carmel, Big Sur, Pebble Beach).
An historic Victorian house with a gracious and helpful staff, and private parking (we plugged in our Chevy Volt every night at no extra charge). Breakfast offers everything from frittata to eggs-your-way, fruit, breads, waffles, pancakes, etc.
Great stay. We booked 4 nights, then extended another two.

This was my first experience with a bed and breakfast, and I loved it. From the beginning the staff was very pleasant and helpful, particularly Kent. We were constantly in and out of there since we were in Monterey for a wedding, and any time we stopped and had a question the staff was more than willing to help. They were friendly and offered all the information we needed. By far the best part was when we were told that "cookies will be provided all throughout bedtime". Bedtime!
The room was adorable. I find it silly that people complain about the size of the rooms or the noises they hear outside. These are old homes that have been preserved and given historical landmark status. Why would they go and ruin that by bulldozing walls down to make them thicker? Why would they put brand new bed frames, when it's supposed to have a cozy, old-fashioned feel? How can you possibly complain about SEAGULLS at a BEACH LOCATION??
It was a small room, yes. But these are original foundations, original rooms. I don't expect a giant suite. We had a bed more than big enough for two people. Our room did not have a tv, but as I said previously we were always in and out of the room so that really didn't effect us at all.
The breakfast was fabulous. I got a delicious tomato, cheese and mushroom frittata that was included with our room. They even gave us extra bacon no charge!
We explored the grounds a little bit too after the wedding, and it was great. There's a little trail you can
