"Amazing staff and so central!"
From Narita airport I caught the limousine bus to the Excel Hotel and then caught a taxi for $7.30 to the hotel. Easy! Water and amenities with free buffet breakfast…amazing! The staff had amazing English and could answer every question that I asked them. It is about a 3 - 5 minute walk to 2 stations and for $10 a day I had subway access all over the city with a one day pass. The bathroom and bedding was super clean and the room was quiet. I had a beautiful view over the city and down onto the courtyard. Amazing value and experience. They also stored my luggage for no extra fee on the day of my departure. The brochure stand has everything that you need and with only 2 stops to Shibuya - super central to everything.

"Great price, great rooms, great location."
A few block walk from the Akasaka-dori and the Akasaka stop of the Marunouchi Line, this Weekly Mansion is located in a convenient part of Tokyo. Akasaka-dori is lined with many restaurant, including familiar western establishments as well as some of the local chains. In addition, there is Akasak Biz Tower, a business complex with many more shops and restaurants (For the beer aficionado, it houses Tokyo’s Delirium Café, which is part of the reason I choose the hotel. For night life, the hotel is a 15 minute walk from Roppongi, an area fill with bars and clubs and popular with westerners. As far as the hotel, the rooms were very clean and surprisingly large. The bathrooms are small and resemble that of a motor home (i.e. the toilet is right in front of the door), but after traveling around Japan I now know that this is the norm. Overall, a great place to stay.

"Excellent hotel in lively location"
The Sunroute Akasaka is brilliantly located - 30 seconds from the Akasaka Mitsuke tube entrance, and there are many nearby convenience stores for food (fridges in hotel rooms too). The room I had was compact, but just enough space. No views, but I'm not sure I wanted one in downtown Akasaka's drinking district! Everything worked well, and the staff were very helpful (though we communicated in Japanese for the most part). Breakfast was included in my package, and at a proper coffee shop adjoining the hotel, so that was a real bonus (though the breakfast choice was a bit limited).

"Cozy stay near Shinjuku"
This was a great experience. My room was not in the hotel proper but a little down the road. Everything I needed was catered for. Service was friendly, english spoken so no language problems and a great breakfast included in the reasonable price. Read about it in my blog baldmanblog.wordpress.com

Pocket Guide: Tokyo Akasaka 2 stars Hotels

Posh hotels and a good selection of mid-range restaurants can be found in this area bordering Ginza’s northwest side. Sights in themselves, hotels include the New Otani complex, featuring a garden that was once owned by a Tokugawa regent, and ANA Hotel Tokyo, which has skyline views rivaling those of Tokyo Tower.
