"Winter weekend trip to Boston"
Way back when, I attended a school in Boston for a year - I didn't really care for the school, but loved Boston. Fast forward twenty something years, I wanted to take my wife and kids to Boston for a visit. Cost being a major consideration, I looked for an inexpensive hotel in an expensive city and found the Midtown Hotel. Many of the reviews that I'd previously read were true - not the most elegant room, students presumably from Berkeley School of Music practicing - but the room was clean - far cleaner than other more expensive rooms in which we have stayed, the staff was really friendly and did their best to make our stay enjoyable. Plus it was in a great part of the city. We didn't go to Boston to stay in any hotel room, but were out touring the city, so we didn't mind the dated furnishings, etc. In summary, I would most definitely recommend the Midtown to others and will definitely stay there again.

"Beautiful B&B!"
The price is right, the rooms are gorgeous, the location in fabulous, and the bathroom is beautiful. I can't rave about this place enough! The room I stayed in (Boston University) was huge, I had my own private bathroom, the king bed was comfortable, and the staff was so helpful. I wish there was a TV in the room and that's really all I can say. WiFi was wonderful, too!

"Nice hotel, close to transit"
I had a conference at the Westin Copley but didn't want to spend a fortune for the room, so I went with the Boston Common because it was a block away. I was satisfied with my choice and have no complaints. The entrance is on kind of a side street and not the main road that borders most of the building's footprint. Great breakfast (coffee, tea, milk, juice, and maybe eight kinds of bread/muffin choices). Can't comment on the price because I got it through Expedia, but I thought it was easily worth the stay and would definitely do everything the same if I had to do it again.

"Good location, good price, rude staff."
Tiny bathroom. Well located. Staff is rude and impatient over the phone when I called in advance to ask few questions. I felt as if they were doing me a favor or something...
