We stayed at this hotel because it is close to a hospital where we were visiting a friend. It is a small, clean, but uninspiring hotel. It has a small pool and a restaurant with basic food. The place is ok for sleeping and taking a shower, but don't expect more. It is a 5 minute walk to the beach which is uninspiring either. One thing we apreciated was the Air Conditioning, it worked really good, this is important because in Veracruz it can get very hot and humid.

Great hotel, a little far from the malecon and plaza but great if you want to rest you could pay about 50pesos for a taxi to drive you to the malecon have fun and then come back and have a good night sleep. Very clean and the staff very nice. Enjoyed our stay.

Mocambo is SUPERB
It's an old hotel with all the amenities of a resort of the 1930's. The tiling on the walls of beautiful pictures and the stain glass windows were lovely. There is an indoor ballroom and an outdoor ballroom, a movie room, gift shop, indoor pool and sauna and spa and outdoor pool with water slide and nice chairs and atmosphere. The beach was not cleaned, and that is the only upgrade they needed to do. the room was large with a nice ac unit that didn't blow on the beds! The staff was excellent. Spanish was necesssary to make your stay more comfortable, but that was Veracruz. No Americans for 10 days. There were some English speakers at the desk and we got along OK with a little Spanish knowledge..The public bus service was good and the town was about a 15 minutes ride along the malecon.

We experienced a problem with the magnetic key and could not use it until the lock was fixed a few hours later. Also had a problem accessing the internet until I was told that the password given was abbreviated, something that should have been pointed out. Actually, it is not very logical to use an abbreviation on a password (the instructions indicated VD Veracruz instead of the actual password Villas Dali Veracruz). Otherwise, everything else was fine and everyone was very helpful.

Close to the beach, restaurants and gigantic hypermarket to get food for the fridge in the room. Covered parking. Next to a police station, and therefore extremely safe. I arrived two days after the Fernand storm and elevators were not working. Very helpful staff carried my bags to the third floor in no time. If you are looking for a hotel to crash while having a good time in Veracruz and Boca del Río, this is good.
