    Kill Devil Hills, the Outer Banks’ oldest township, is the site of the first heavier-than-air powered flight. On December 17, 1903, Wilbur and Orville Wright made four historic flights at the base of a big hill that is now part of the Wright Brothers National Memorial. Kill Devil Hills is also home to the Outer Banks Daredevils of the Coastal Plain League, a collegiate summer baseball league.
