Having stayed in NY before and had a tiny room, this hotel room was bigger than expected. Our room was on the 11th floor, and was one of only 2 rooms with a window on 2 sides of the room. We had fantastic views of uptown and the west side. Although the room was bigger than expected, it was still a small room, with no wardrobe space to unpack, but not unexpected in this city. The room was clean, bathroom compact but nice. Breakfast was included, but would recommend eating outside. The eating area was virtually the corridor of the hotel. Tea and coffee were available 24 hours from the breakfast area as well as coffee in the room.

If you are looking for an affordable accommodation in New York, you're looking at it now. I had chosen to stay here based on the reviews I read and to be honest, I was rather sceptical at first. But I'm glad I took the chance and stayed here for 4 nights. As I was travelling solo, the room I was in was perfectly suited to my needs. It was a corner room complete with tv, coffee machine, basin, table/cupboard, and single bed. Although you would have to share the bathrooms, the staff kept it clean at all times.
This place is also located within minutes from Union Square station (14st Union Sq Stn), and it's 4 stations away from 42st, Time Square! In other words, you are in prime location to explore NYC!
The hotel staff are very polite and would gladly help you organise for a shuttle service to take you to the airport.
All in all, I had such a fabulous time here and couldn't recommend it enough to anyone travelling to NYC on a budget.

No-nonsense meticulously clean hotel, tiny well appointed rooms, shared 1-person bathrooms with toilets and showers off the hallway. Highly recommend Hotel 31 as a simple place to stay in Manhattan for an affordable rate. Was full of tourists, I have no complaints at all.

Hotel staff friendly and accommodating. Great bagels! Comfortable room. We had an early arrival and staff checked to see if the room was ready. It was not ready, but we were able to check our bags and travel around the city.

We stayed here (family of 5) for three nights before New Years. The hotel served a very nice free breakfast and provided free wi-fi. It is centrally located within walking distance to Times Square, Rockafeller Center, Herald Square and the subway. We ate at the Korean restaurant across the street and it was one of our favorite meals!!
