"Nice Staff"
A basic sort of place, but one of the least expensive in the town and the folk made us very welcome. We had a decent sleep...which was what we wanted after a long day on the road.

"home hunting"
Have stayed before and had a good time so was first choice to stay at again. Two wonderful hosts in Rosalind and John they treat you like a good friend they have known for years, always there for you, chatting away about everything but still attending to everything. The rooms are large, comfortable and have everything you need for a long or short stay. Am only sorry that I most probably wont stay there again as we found a home not far away which makes it a bit silly to book into their great hotel when we only live down the road but now we have freed it up for others to discover, go on, enjoy The Cliff at Bude. We did. Thanks Roz+John

"Cosy & good value for money!"
Stayed here on 3rd July 2012 as a stay over on business - a decent, comfortable room in upmarket hostel style, under a 'Surf Lodge' idea, this works well! It was clean and tidy, and as i am not a fussy type, suited my needs. The bar is small but cosy with a pool table, and has a restaurant attached. They do their own home cooked food which looked great on the menu - i had the fishcakes - i recommend! Ian who was managing at the time was very friendly and was a great host. If you like a character pub, somewhere cosy and simple, this is a good option and good value for money. I originally chose the Inn on the fact that it was the cheapest in the area/seemed to appeal to younger people (due to the Surf tag), and left satified - if in the area again i would return!

Hotel is in an excellent location, near the beach and town. I would say it is more for young people. Basic but all you need. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Would stay here again.

Pocket Guide: Cornwall North Cornish Coast 2 stars Hotels

The county’s most rugged scenery and best beaches - Porthtowan, St Agnes, Perranporth, Polzeath, Newquay - are to be found here along with world-class surfing at Newquay. The latter is the most commercialised resort, with family attractions and a throbbing nightlife. The pretty fishing village of Padstow is the fashionable foodie capital of the region, while the spectacular Tintagel Castle ruins wrap themselves in the legend of King Arthur.
