8 place aux herbes, Orange 84100 - Map
"Nice location! Closed to everything!"
The hotel is in the center of the city, the ancient Romain theatre is 1 minutes away, lots of restaurants and boutique shops are nearby. In the night we stayed there, it happend to be a music festival, this tiny city was turned into an ocean of music and a street market, and everything is around the hotel.

"bare necessity hotel"
some of the rooms looked nice enough but mine was very basic with just head level boarding separating the shower from the bed and no en suite toilet. very convenient for town and decent breakfast. 2 star in France equates to 1 star at home and I'd bare this in mind.

Pocket Guide: Vaucluse Orange 2 stars Independent Hotels

Situated 24 kilometres north of Avignon, Orange is one of France’s most important Roman towns. The spectacular amphitheatre was built during Augustus Caesar’s rule (27BC-AD14), although today’s spectacles are non-gladiatorial in the form of opera, concerts, films and rock concerts in the summer. Another Roman treasure is the magnificent first-century triumphal arch – like Paris’ Arc de Triomphe – depicting scenes of conquests over the Gauls.
