"Nice hotel in good location"
Convent location to train station and sites. Staff were very friendly and helpful and spoke english. The wifi connection was good, we didn't have any problems. The rooms were clean and tidy. Would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone who is looking for a basic hotel for a reasonable price.

"Friendly Hotel"
Hotel was in a really handy location, not on a main road but right by the main Termini station and within easy walking distance of Trevi fountain & Colosseum. The room we had was comfortable & spotlessly clean. I was traveling with just my 10 year old son and he was happy with the room too. The breakfast area was a bit cosy but it wasn't a restaurant so I didn't expect much more. The staff were absolutely fabulous, they arranged a pick up from the airport as I had booked a tour for the day we arrived but it started before I could check in, they looked after my luggage until we finished the tour. They pointed us in the right direction & gave us a map so we knew where we were going. I had emailed them several times before we arrived and they replied instantly with all the info I'd requested. I have to say that I didn't particularly love the locals but the staff at the hotel made us feel at home, I can't express enough how lovely they were. I would recommend this hotel to anyone wanted a no nonsense hotel, you get what you pay for and I'm glad I booked with them. x

"Perfect location"
Our stay was in a double room with a shower/toilet within the room. We were in a renovated part of the hotel so I cannot comment on the older rooms. I was actually a hoping for some of the charm of the older rooms but I must admit the more modern amenities found in a renovated room were nice to have. When you arrive at the hotel, you must go up the stairs in the courtyard to reach the reception desk. This might confuse someone who is not prepared. We had no problem finding reception. We were greeting by a gentleman who spoke perfect English and he provided us with answers to the few questions that we had. During our stay we were moved to a different room because a school group was arriving to stay on our floor. We did not ask for this, instead the staff proactively realized this might be a problem and moved us before it ever became an issue. We were extremely happy with the location of the hotel and we were within walking distance (1 mile) of many of the more popular sights.

"Good choice for a city break"
Location is excellent. You can walk to most of the tourist attractions. The staff is friendly. The room was excellent for the money - large room (in fact two rooms) with one double beds and two single beds was given to us as a double room. Very clean, the furniture was a bit old, but ok for the price. There is a safe in the room. The bathroom was small, but clean and tidy. Lots of towels provided, shampoo, shower gel, toothbrushes, toothpaste, shower caps, even shaving gear. The only real problem was WiFi. Although hotel declares that there is free WiFi, in fact it is very unstable. I couldn't get my iphone to connect in the room most of the times. Ipad was better, but sometimes it couldn't connect either.

"Small boutique hotel close to all major attraction"
A lovely hotel with only about 7 rooms. Staff are welcoming, warm, friendly, attentive, and helpful. Rooms were clean, and comfortable. The hotel does not have serve breakfast but this is available from their sister hotel, which is only a 5 min walk. The hotel is centrally located in 'old' Rome, within walking distance of most of the major attractions and also close to the metro if you prefer to take the train. There are lots of restaurants and cafes nearby and the hotel staff are very knowledgeable about the best ones to go to. Only let down was the noise from building works across the street which start very early in the morning - worthwhile asking about any such construction before booking.

"Convenient, deceptively good hotel."
Convenient for station Termini. This hotel is not obvious from the address, we were however emailed very good instructions on getting there which we unfortunately didnt get as we were travelling for 3 weeks prior to the booking. Took us about 10 mins to find right door at 87b rather than 85 . The email also tells you that payment is cash only which might be worth knowing in advance for some people. ( credit card through Expedia secures booking and price but payment was on checkout) Initially when shown in wondered what the room would be like as went up a floor in a very small , ancient looking lift. But was very pleasantly surprised . Good quality room with everything you need including wi fi. Breakfast buffet style and a little unusual in that there quite a range of cakes to compliment the usual croissants, fruit juices and hot drinks. One of our fellow guests commented on the lack of fruit and yogurt but there was quite a wide selection of stuff. Staff were very relaxed , helpful and friendly . Doesn't have the " image " of some of the larger hotels but we think it was a good find ( based partly on previous Expedia reviews) and very good value compared with a 4* round the corner that we had used at the start of our trip.. Would definitely recommend and consider using again if go back to Rome.

"Beautiful place close to Rome Train Station"
We choose Papa Germano's because of the excellent reviews on Expedia. Rome can be intimidating, but when we walked through the door of Papa Germano's everyone gave us a warm welcome. The floors shine from polished marble letting you know this place sparkles. Our room on the the third floor looked recently remodeled with the same shiny marble floors, new cabinets, new bed & bedding, all new bathroom fixtures and a brand new shower stall. We arrived by train and left by the airport shuttle bus, and both were a convenient 10 minute walk away. We were able to visit all the sights in Rome by walking, subway and bus. We met Papa Germano himself, and he turned out to be a warm friendly guy who assured us he believes in providing basic quality service for the lowest possible price. It's a great philosophy, and we'd stay there again.

"Convenient location"
I recently stayed in this hotel and aside from the lack of variety in every day breakfast, I don't have any other negative comment about it. Room rate was good. The location is pretty much convenient, 5 to 10 minutes walking distance from Termini Station and from there you can get buses or metro to the historical landmarks. There are also restaurants, gelaterias, money exchange and supermarket nearby. The staff was kind and attentive.

"We loved this hotel!"
We stayed here for four nights and got to know both the city and the staff very well. The staff were so helpful in telling us about the "must see things" as well as finding little family run cafes, gellato shops, cigar stores, etc. The young barista was so sweet and hard working; she cleered tables as fast as people left so no one had to wait for a seat for breakfast (and her espresso lattes were to live for!) The front desk staff were always cheerful and welcomed questions. The front desk staff all very much looked the part with a jacket and tie during the day...very classy! I simply can't say enough about the professionalism of the staff. I love trying new hotels, but I would certainly return to this hotel again. This hotel is a gem! Thank You Saturnia!
