On arrival, the entire town Tusayan was without electricity. Backup generators allowed hotel staff to complete checkin in a seamless fashion. Box lunches were available for those wishing something to eat for the evening (power was not expected to be restored for 4-6 hours, somewhere between 8:30 to 10:30 P.M.). The staff was outstanding in every regard. My wife was very happy with the quality of her night's sleep--happy wife, happy life. We would definitely stay again if we ever return to the Grand Canyon.
