"Excellent location & value for money"
I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at the hotel Monterey hanzomon and had very few complaints. Firstly the location is excellent with the underground being right across the road. Also it was close to a very nice bakery just up the road and Starbucks not that much further. The room was spotless and the bathroom was very attractive and was very well appointed with handy things like shaving kits and toothbrushes and toothpaste. The bed was great too and room service was very efficient. The only 2 complaints I have was there was no gym and the breakfast was ok but this didn't matter too much with the bakery being so close.

"First trip to Japan"
I booked our stay at the Akasaka Excel Hotel based on the ratings and reviews that were previously written, the photos that were posted , and the availability of a limousine bus to the hotel from Narita airport. It was easy to secure a seat on the bus from the counter inside the baggage claim area. The limousine bus was a comfortable and affordable way to travel into the city. The check-in at the hotel was quick and easy. Although our room was on the 9th floor, we had a beautiful view of an elevated garden outside of our window! So much better than looking out onto the street. Although the room was small, it had a nice bathroom with a multi-function shower, a heated seat cover on the bidet, and well-appointed toiletries (ex: toothbrushes, hairbrushes, cotton, shampoo, conditioner, shower gel). The only downside was not having enough closet or drawer space. We just kept our clothing in our suitcases. There was a 7-11 which stocked fresh cut fruit and delicious breads/pastries for breakfast, a Tully's coffee shop for more gourmet coffees, and a SuperKus convenience store which had bento lunches Mon-Fri all on the street level. The Akasaka-Mitsuke train station was located right across the street which made our daily traveling so easy! There were also over 100 dining options across the street. The larger train stations (Shibuya, Tokyo) were also filled with restaurants and eateries! All of it was delicious and affordable! Can't wait to make my 2nd trip to Japan! ;

"Great location, great price"
Enjoyed a five night stay here in the height of Summer. Location is great as it is not far from the Roppongi metro station and not too close to the seedy bars in the area. The room was cosy but had all the mod cons - air conditioning, tv, ipod dock, coffee / tea facilities, microwave and even a kitchen sink. However, it is not suited for a large / tall person as the bathroom is a cubicle style and very compact. Wifi was choppy from my room as well. Overall, a great place to stay and I would highly recommend it.

"Great Location for a great hotel."
Let me start off by saying that Tokyo hotel rooms are small. This you will overcome. While small, I could the room quite pleasant and the bathroom nice. Traditional Japanese tub meant I had a nice soak every evening after a long day of playing tourist. The area - Akasaka Mitsuke - is easy to reach via Tokyo Metro. Take the M line to Akasaka Mitsuke. It's so easy. (You can also download the Tokyo Metro App if you need help navigating from stop to stop.) I would stay there again.

"Lovely hotel, very helpful staff."
The hotel is in a quiet area with not much around but very convenient for the subway. The location would suit someone looking for a bit of peace and quiet in the midst of this lively city. The staff were very friendly and helpful and helped us with transferring our luggage to another location. The room was fairly small, but standard by Tokyo size! The breakfast buffet had a good selection of Japanese and western food to suit every taste. Excellent vending machines!

Great location with subway station 5 minutes walk in distance and a convenient part of the city. Room was a bit small but typical in Tokyo and great value for the price range. Hotel staffs are friendly and tried their best to help with anything although some limitations with English. Lots of restaurants are located couple blocks away.

"Very impressed with this hotel."
We have been travelling for 9 months, and this was one of the most impressive hotels we've stayed in. It's has quite small rooms, which is typical of Tokyo, but this is mitigated by the excellent design, quality, cleanliness, and good working order of everything. Staff are friendly and helpful. We found it difficult to book rooms in Tokyo, so prices were on the high side. But this hotel, was relatively well priced, is in an excellent location for visiting all of Tokyo, and is within a 4 minute walk of the Akasaka underground station. It is rather difficult to find if you don't have a detailed map: we took a taxi from Nareda airport on arrival, and were thankful we did. Once there, there was no difficulty finding it again. We'd also strongly recommend a sushi bar on the 2nd floor of the Akasaka station building - on the Tokyo Broadcasting Service (TBS) side.

"New and excellent hotel"
I have stayed in 3 hotels during my one-week stay in Tokyo, this hotel is definitely the best. The hotel is new and all the facilities are excellent, staff are very friendly and helpful, also good at English. It is just 5min walk from the hotel to Hanzomon station, instead of staying in some popular areas such as Ueno by paying the same price, I would choose this hotel for its excellent condition and services.

"Good location"
Situated right across from Akasaka station, this hotel is in a great spot. The staff were very welcoming and it was a shame that we spent hardly any time here - just a place to drop our bags and have a few hours sleep. We explored the surrounding neighbourhood on foot, but there were plenty of public transport options.

    Posh hotels and a good selection of mid-range restaurants can be found in this area bordering Ginza’s northwest side. Sights in themselves, hotels include the New Otani complex, featuring a garden that was once owned by a Tokugawa regent, and ANA Hotel Tokyo, which has skyline views rivaling those of Tokyo Tower.
