Our stay in the hotel was everything we could of asked for. The room was beautiful, but the best thing was the view of the volcano from our patio. I loved how I could just sit in the patio and enjoyed the sight of not only the volcano, but of the beautiful plants, flowers, and exotic birds in the hotel. The staff was extremely nice and willing to help. When we arrived we were welcomed with cold towels and drinks. The receptionist helped us book our tours and our shuttle. The restaurant breakfast was really delicious, and servers were so nice. The room was always cleane, and our our cleaning lady kept us amused with different towel figures. The location was great because it was close to the city, but felt remote and private. Our private tours consisted of water rafting, hanging trail, waterfall visit, and Baldi spring visit. The tours included transportation, knowledgeable guides, food, and snacks. It was more than I expected, and can't wait to visit again.

Booked on a recommendation of a friend and could not be happier. Beautiful room overlooking the rain forest facing Arenal. At night you can hear the sounds of the rain forest and the entire property smelled like a florist shop or green house from all of the native flowers on the property. Staff was wonderful. We came in the beginning of November so the busy season was just starting but we only saw one other couple the whole time. It was like we had the whole resort to ourselves.

Our room was perfect with a great view of Volcan Arenal. Each "room" is actually an individual cabin with a large bedroom/living area and large bathroom. The whole facility is beautifully landscaped with luscious plants of all sizes and colors everywhere you look. The staff was always available, helpful, and knowledgeable. There is a lot to do in the area. We hiked the trails around the most recent lava flow, went horse back riding (more fun than I expected!), experienced guided nature tours including the high canopy hanging bridges and early morning bird watching, and twice took advantage of a local thermal hot springs spas and a convenient poolside bar. With four cameras going, we probably took close to 1000 photos here.

We had a very pleasant stay here. The resort grounds were stunning with beautiful landscaping and foliage especially around the hot springs. We were here during low season and were often the only guests at the hot springs.
The staff was excellent, everyone was very friendly and helpful. Edward at the activity desk helped us book tours and also provided good suggestions on restaurants in town and nearby places to see.
The restaurants at the resort looked nice but were deserted most of the time - maybe because it was low season. They were a little overpriced and we did not travel to Costa Rica to eat pizza and sushi. Perhaps if they had a more casual Costa Rican restaurant it would be more popular.
Overall had a great time and would suggest this resort to anyone looking for a relaxing beautiful place to stay.

Fantastic location, gorgeous views. Recommend a 3rd floor room from best view. Included breakfast was delicious. All staff were friendly and willing to help plan activities. The room itself was clean and comfortable. Very nice swimming pool and hot tub, daily happy hour at the swim up bar and a second happy hour at the indoor bar. If I am ever back in Costa Rica I would definitely stay here again!

A truly unique rainforest experience. The hotel is set in lush, beautiful tropical gardens with many birds. Cabanas are comfortable and private (although the bed could be updated). Staff are wonderful. The sounds of the jungle at night are magical. The restaurant meals are good and very affordable. Highly recommended for a romantic getaway or a quiet family vacation.

Wonderful experience staying here, unfortunately only overnight. The manager was amazing, helping us locate and track one of our bags which had not arrived in San Jose. Loved the iguanas having a quick dip in the pool! Very safe, secure, walking distance to great shops. Loved it and will be back!

I love this hotel! The family who owns the hotel is wonderful - warm, funny, accommodating, and kind. The hotel itself is beautiful. You can stay in a bungalow or in a treehouse. I love my bungalow - it's spacious and comfortable, and I look out to mamon trees and a big garden. The treehouse has two hanging chair hammocks, and I like to sit in one of them while writing and looking out at San Isidro de Penas Blancas and Arenal/La Fortuna.
The food at the hotel is wonderful! The owner's wife and daughter are the cooks and they are fantastic! Each meal is uniquely Costa Rican and absolutely phenomenal!
Since I've been here, I got to garden with the hotel's gardener, Tarzan, which was a blast! We planted pineapples, beans, maize, and yucca trees. The family also took me on a gorgeous hike that included a stop at Rio Penas Blancas for some hot springs time and a swim in the river.
I absolutely love this hotel and would definitely stay here again if I travel to this part of Costa Rica in the future.
