Part of Californias Central Coast, Arroyo Grande is noted for its historic downtown. Many of the villages buildings are from the 19th and early 20th centuries, where specialty and antique shops have taken up residence. An annual strawberry festival, boasting arts and crafts, food, and entertainment, has been taking place since 1983.
