Staff was extremely attentive!! From coffe with a smile from Carlos early morning to water taxi driver Raphael to bartender Smokey in the evening. Jerrilee helped with all tours and reservations and James met all culinary pleasures:) Grounds were kept up daily and every wish was met with immediacy!! You must like remoteness be a nature lover and want to relax. Tours to reef were awesome and reports on blue hole were good though we didn't experience ourselves. Great international guests with similar interests were engaging and friendly!!! San Pedro was an interesting town.. No fee to take water Taxi. If you are allergic to Mosquitos make sure you make provisions or check the season!

Hopkins Bay is a beautiful resort right on the beach with private villas all within easy walking distance to the water, bar, restaurants and pools. The staff is friendly, accommodating and helpful. The rooms are clean and comfortable, slightly behind the times fixture and plumbing wise, but remember you are still in a third world country. Its a beautiful home base for a stay in a gorgeous, adventure filled country.

The staff was outstanding! The room was small but very clean. They were more than helpful when needing to book trips for the day or renting the golf carts. The bar on the beach was very fun happy place with interesting guests that had fun stories and great conversations.

Windy Hill had one of the nicest staff I've ever met at a resort. They took pride in where they worked, and went out of their way to make you feel at home. The site was emaculatly landscaped. All the cottages were well kept and comfortable. The hotel provided tours that were very comparable in price to the ones in town. You do need to take a cab into town if you want to do something on your own, but it is inexpensive and easy. I would highly recommend Windy Hill if you plan to visit San Ignacio.

We spent a week on a private island prior to our visit to the Black Orchid, we appreciated the airport transportation which was provided, the driver - Kenny was very polite, courteous and allowed us to make a quick stop at the grocery store on our way to the hotel. Very pleased with the accommodations, room was clean, air conditioner worked well and the staff was great! Our room was not ready so we sat by the pool, I was being welcomed by a few mosquitoes (while we waited by the pool) when a gentleman walked past indicating I might need some bug spray. I indicated I had some, but it was in my suit case, which I think was already outside our room. Next thing I knew, he brought a bottle to us to use and keep until we checked out. We were very surprised by this kind gesture, which we grew to realize, this was the level of customer service provided by the entire team during our stay. We met the owner who provided us a tour of the new check-in area and shared the growth they experienced over the years. We highly recommend this hotel to anyone traveling to Belize.
