I enjoyed my first stay at the South Street Inn. The inn is very conveniently located to the pedestrian mall - I was there to see a show at the Jefferson Theater, and it was a great evening with just a two block walk and no worries about driving after drinking at dinner and the concert. I loved the room I stayed in - it was furnished with charming antiques, and the bed was very comfortable. I like a firmer mattress, and I had a good night's sleep. This is the first time I've stayed at a B&B or inn type of accommodation - I like to come and go as I please and not socialize much with staff or other guests, so I usually prefer the anonymity of a hotel or motel, but I chose this inn for the combination of location and price, and it worked out well. The staff was friendly when I checked in and out and at breakfast, but I didn't feel pressured to chat with people. However, there is a wine and cheese happy hour, I you like this kind of thing. The breakfast was nice, with fresh fruit, home-made baked treats, yogurt, cereal and good coffee. I would definitely like to stay here again.

This hotel was by far one of the best we have encountered. The room was spotless, the staff friendly and helpful. There was a bar restaurant on the premises and as I experience some food intolerances, they were extremely helpful in preparing a special meal.
Right in the heart of town.

"Quiet hotel close to the Charlottesville airport"
It was a very busy, activity-filled weekend in Charlottesville and the hotel was filled to capacity There was ample staff to process late check-ins, even directing patrons to after hour eateries at eleven PM. When the breakfast buffet was inundated the staff was very accommodating opening up additional seating. The breakfast buffet had a lot of variety was plentiful and delicious. I was very impressed with the number and friendliness of all staff for the weekend and would recommend this to anyone visiting Charlottesville.

We came in Friday night to visit my daughter at Lambeth and were extremely happy with the bed, the pull our and the extra room in this "studio". It was supremely convenient to campus, to trolley and across the street from a shopping center with everything from Ben and Jerry's to Zoe's kitchen. Will definitely stay there again
