What a great little hotel, just outside of Chateauneuf-du-Pape, overlooking the vineyards of the appellation. While it is outside of town, and not exactly easily reached on foot (or bike, because of psycho drivers on the roads), we loved our stay here. Great little pool, wonderful restored farmhouse, quiet room. If the decor of the rooms is a little 70s, it's forgivable, and I loved how each of the dozen or so rooms was named after an allowed grape used in CduPape. Ours was Vaccarese, for example. The meals were fabulous and the service was exceptional. Overall, a quiet little escape in a bustling and newly-industrious town. The hotel is on the road to Roquemaure, and not actually in "downtown" CduPape - the only disclaimer to note.
