"Pleasant pension type hotel convenient to Dresden"
Warning! Address listed was not recognized by the satnav on our rental vehicle - Pension Marlis is in actually in Reichenberg which is a few km south of Moritzburg, but this makes it more convenient to both Dresden and the A4. With help from locals we did manage to find it after about an hour. It was well worth the effort.
We had requested a ground floor room as I cannot handle stairs with luggage and were given one where you could literally unload the car into the room. Wifi was free but only available close to the office. Breakfast (extra) was more than adequate with a good selection of cold cuts, breads, cereals, eggs, etc.

Directions to the pension were clear and it is signed from the main road. On arrival we were impressed by the lovely gardens and Mr Bauer came out and offered assistance with the luggage and showed us to our room. The room was bright, and well furnished with a large spot less bathroom. Breakfast gave a good choices of cereals, fruit juices, yoghurt, boiled eggs, meats, cheeses and jams, with fresh coffee and tea. We planned to use public transport and Mrs Bauer had timetables for the the bus into ( 360) Dresden and the stop is 10 minutes away. She explained how we could buy tickets from the driver and how to get the all day travel ticket. The bus frequency reduces in the evening but there is also another bus No 66 Mockritz which goes from the central station same stop as 360, but you get off in Bannerwitz Strasse just after the Opel/Chev car dealership and walk up the hill so it takes about 15minutes.
There is a nice restaurant about 15-20 minutes walk down into the village.
Mr and Mrs Bauer are really lovely people and we enjoyed their hospitality and our language limitations presented no difficulty whatsoever, in fact it enhanced or visit.
We enjoyed our three night stop and Dresden is such a lovely city, but having such welcoming hosts and comfortable accomodation was really appreciated.

After a busy conference in Berlin it was perfect for relaxing. Just out the back gate to the pub for evening meals and a riverside walk to the ferry and to Pillnitz Castle. Breakfast on the terrace. A two minute walk to the tram into Dresden for sightseeing and a short drive to Meissen. A spacious room overlooking the garden to the river and a modern bathroom.

This apartment hotel is incredible! It had the most incredible view - room 407 in building 2!!! - overlooking the main square in Dresden looking right at the Frauenkirche. I have never had such a view in the heart of old Dresden. I will definitely be back there again. A large comfortable apartment with all the conveniences of home. 5 stars. All for the same rate as an inexpensive hotel room. Peter

Adler is on the outskirts of Dresden - a fine location if you have a car. It would be problematic without a car. They offer free parking, free internet. The place is clean, the room is pleasant. The operator is a little uptight but helpful - helped us find a good hotel for our next stop in Nuremburg. Breakfasts at hotels always seem to us to be very expensive, i.e. 7 to 10 Euros for a continental breakfast so we never opt for that.
