Location (5-7 minutes from main plaza/theater Juarez) was perfect and the noises, other than quite background, was minimal. We stayed on the 4th floor and for anyone staying here, a reminder that it is all uphill. It was 86 steps up to our room and we were pretty winded at the top. But worth the climb! You'll thoroughly enjoy this Hotel, especially it's ambiance...very nice

The experience is great the moment you arrive, we drove to Guanajuato from Mexico city. The staff was ready to receive our car and provided the key immediately to begin enjoying our stay.
They recommended a very good restaurant and activities nearby. We would be happy to go back

First thing I discovered was that they did not have my Expedia reservation, they said that Expedia was new to them. However the next day they found it. The Building from a distance looks like a medieval European Castle. Guanajuato is a very beautiful Colonial City, it worth to go there, but a Medieval Castle doesn't belong there. However as I said from a distance looks nice and even when you approach the castle looks like real, except that, during renovations they used some cheap and modern materials, specially on floors and they definitely do not look medieval not even colonial, but 1970's and 1980's. the outside patios and gardens of the Castle (Castillo) look absolutely dry with lack of maintenance, if you want to take a walk it is better to walk to the downtown of Guanajuato or take a taxi, 8 mins to Teatro Juarez, area. Guanajuato is a real small treasure colonial city in Mexico

Had a great stay for 5 days here. Room was clean and the staff all very friendly. It is a 20 - 30 min walk to center of town. Wifi can be slow and inconsistent, but we were quite satisfied overall. Easy access by car. We would stay there again.

After an absolutely horrible flight experience, Monte leon was a refreshing stay. A beautiful building with wonderful room. The staff was very agreeable and on top of everything. The Hotel owner has spend time in the states, so if you are looking for a hotel with english speaking staff I would recommend this hotel. My trip to Mexico was soured by the terrible treatment from aeromexico airlines, however, Monte leon was a wonderful experience and I encourage everyone to check it out. Very affordable, extremely well kept and a wonderful caring staff. Please check it out, you wont regret it.

I simply loved the hotel. Very beautiful colonial-style Mexico, plus a great view of the town. I could have stayed all day at the hotel if I didn´t have all of the activities planned-- and there so much to see in San Miguel de Allende. The hotel staff are very nice and the room was spotless! I can´t wait to return

great location. great place to stay. wonderful breakfast, lovely grounds. considerate staff. bad news was...the weather and the condition of the facilities. it was cold (50-55F) and wet. the room had no heat except for a hot blanket and a small space heater. hot water in the shower was not good either. so we were cold in the room, every night. is this the fault of the hotel? i am not sure. were/are their better constructed rooms in the city -- warmer really -- i do not know. but, as long as the air temp is above 65F i think this is a great place. below and you might want to pack your winter gear b/c the rooms are COLD.
