I found myself homeless when I learned my usual SF Airport hotel was sold out. I'm quite a spoiled business traveler when it comes to hotels, I like boutique and luxury hotels, but not hotels that over do it. I am an former resident of Northern California, so when I went online to source another hotel, seeing a hotel in Half Moon Bay brought back great memories. When I first saw the Half Moon Bay Lodge come up, it caught my eye, reviews sounded great, so I thought I would give it a try. What a delightful hotel. What great scenery! Very well appointed lodge near the sea! Immediately upon driving up, I felt home and in great company with all the surroundings. I woke up and walked to breakfast in a lovely dinning room space, with a very healthy meal in an atmosphere perfect to start my day. I left wanting more time here, I will return and I'm gonna tell everyone about this well kept secret. Well done Half Moon Bay Lodge!

Beautiful view, walks on the beach, great experience at the resturants. Just ask the local people where to go and they will give you great advise. Down the road is a place to go horse back riding, will have to try this on next trip. Early morning walk on beach is peaceful. Very nice place to relax and take in the view. Local people recommend Sams Seaffod whcih is next to the Inn ($$$) and has fire pits to roast Smora's which you can purchase and is for 4 people for $20.00.
Barbar's seafood which is a red shack just down the road($$). Great food at both resturants

We had an ocean view room on the second level. It was beautiful. We enjoyed the outside high top table and chairs on the deck. The evening snacks with wine was a nice touch. Just wish we had more time to spend here. If you stay, walk the coastline trail which passes directly in front of the hotel.

We spent the entire night in the hotel since we are from around the area and had been to Half Moon Bay several times before. This was our first stay at Mill Rose Inn. The bed is soooo comfortable! I wish we would have more time to relax in it. Our room had a jacuzzi tub that was HUGE as well as a fireplace that was nice to sit by at night. Terry has a very extensive movie collection that even had new movies like 12 Years a Slave. We watched a couple in our room while enjoying the complimentary beverages and cheese plate. At night, we spent an hour in the hot tub surround by plants/flowers with a view to the stars. I feel like there is so much left to enjoy and explore at this B&B and we will definitely be back again!!!
