"Great hotel, good location, terrible parking."
If we arrived back at the hotel before 8 or so we didn't have problems parking, past that was a gamble... made worse by the layout of the parking lot with dead end paths and one-way roads. Great hotel otherwise though!

"lovely tranquil spot near the Volcano National Par"
Warmly greeted by Ashley who toured us through our room, and informed us about the grounds. The complex is beautifully groomed with lovely outdoor areas to walk and enjoy. The new gazebo house is a perfect spot for an early riser to enjoy coffee and emails without disturbing anyone....it is a charming space.

"Tropical, peaceful, off the beaten path"
We loved this quiet resort, not hectic or touristy but easy drive to beaches, restaurants, shopping. A special thank you to Britney & Judy for honoring our request for ground level along the golf course. We enjoy watching the golfers and turkeys roaming around! This is our 4th stay and we will definitely return.

"The Big Island (Kona) Experience"
The Kona Coast Resort is fabulous. It is in a great position - by the sea, within walking distance from a very convenient and small shopping centre. Staff are very helpful and friendly - will do anything for you. The grounds are immaculate, the pools located within easy reach of any part of the complex and there is good security in the complex which are fairly inconspicuous. We felt very safe at any time of the day or night. The most difficult part of our trip was the public transport system, which is fabulous but infrequent. Costs $2 to $2.50 to go anywhere by buses and trolley. The trolley goes to the main parts of Kona and is fun. If you want to travel across the island, you need to get a bus which is still $2 or $2.50, or take a tour which will pick you up at your resort, or hire a car. The weather was great even though it was winter. We drove past snow up on the mountains and it was warm down on the coast. It only takes a half a day to drive round the island or a full day if you stop off at a lot of places. We saw whales spouting just off the coast, went to outlets that sold macadamia "everything" and swam at lots of different beaches, some of which had turtles swimming with us. Great place to holiday, especially if you like the outdoors.

"Nice quiet restful place."
The location was well lit from the road to make it easy to find at night with a big enough sign to find the drive the first time by. The breakfast was well worth the money. Enjoyed the view and it was so peaceful. The cooler, eating utensils and wine glasses added to the place. We were able to pack a lunch and wander to the beach and pick up supplies to have dinner in if we wanted.

"Hidden place in Volcano"
The building was pretty new and the rooms were large and comfortable.. At 4000 feet elevation, it can be cool. The only heat we had was a radiator type heater that didn't do much to heat the large room. Plenty of blankets were available so one can stay warm.
