The hotel is beautiful and I could feel the history as soon as I walked on the property. We did initially have to change rooms because the first room didn't appear to have been cleaned. As soon as I mentioned it to the front desk clerk he immediately gave me a key to check out another room which turned out to be ready for guests. The beds were wonderful. I haven't slept that well in years! They have a wonderful continental breakfast and are right in the heart if everything in Charleston. Although you can see signs of aging, I felt it gave the hotel character and I will stay there again if we get the chance to return to Charleston.

"Great location, great staff"
We only stayed one night because they were sold out but I would definitely recommend this to anyone who doesn't mind an older, more intimate hotel. The room was small but comfortable, and beautifully furnished. The bathroom was completely updated and clean. Our room overlooked a lovely courtyard with a fountain. The complimentary breakfast and evening reception was wonderful, too. But it's the staff that make this place exceptional. From the time we walked in, they were friendly, courteous, and so helpful. Each and every one of them. I would love to stay here again.

"Vacation"
The Jasmine was wonderful. The courtyard in the back is a great place for breakfast and also sitting out at the end of the day. The breakfasts were great, and a great example of "Southern Cuisine". The location was good and we walked everywhere. Also, the rooms were unusually large and the Jasmine thought of everything. There were numerous mirrors which are always important to the girls. There was plenty of room to spread out and easy for two people to get dressed without being in anyone's way. We highly recommend and would definitely stay there again on another trip. We stay at a lot of B & B's and this one is exceptional.

Walkable to everything downtown. High quality appliances, linens, and comfortable beds. From reading other reviews, you'll know that there is no elevator and you must take stairs, and it can be a bit noisy in the mornings, but that's understandable because of the location. Only real disappointment for me was the lack of cleanliness in both bathrooms.

Dating back to Colonial times, Charleston, home to 120,000 people, was nearly obliterated during the American Civil War. However, some historic buildings remain and are popular destinations, including Fort Sumnter, Boone Hall Plantation, and the Old Exchange Buildings. The South Carolina Aquarium, home to 10,000 plants and animals, is another popular tourist attraction.
