Stayed for a long weekend with friends. Staff was very courteous and helpful. We were able to walk easily to the market place and many great restaurants. We were given many suggestions for sightseeing and the staff made arrangements for tour company to pick us up for excursions

"Great place to stay"
Very, very nice hotel. Only about a year old, the rooms are exceptional, well appointed, clean and comfortable. The bathroom is spacious and has a great shower. It is not exactly "downtown," but close enough to get to shopping and restaurants. Very friendly staff for all questions or concerns. I will definitely stay here again!

"Nice location in heart of Charleston"
The Society House is in a great location for sight seeing, shopping, and dining. Descriptions were accurate of the condo, and we found it comfortable for our 2 night stay. Our unit was on the 2nd floor above a store facing King Street. We enjoyed the large windows that looked down on the activity below, but this did allow for a little more noise than we like. Our Internet service was out which was frustrating as it was not corrected during our stay. The "off-site" management was apologetic for this "after" our stay and did offer a discount for the inconvenience. All in all, we would stay there again.

Pocket Guide: Charleston Historic Charleston 3 stars Hotels

Dating back to Colonial times, Charleston, home to 120,000 people, was nearly obliterated during the American Civil War. However, some historic buildings remain and are popular destinations, including Fort Sumnter, Boone Hall Plantation, and the Old Exchange Buildings. The South Carolina Aquarium, home to 10,000 plants and animals, is another popular tourist attraction.
