A warm, welcoming, friendly atmosphere where the staff really do go 'that extra mile' to make sure you feel welcome. The Harrison is a small gastropub in a quiet residential location within a very easy walk to St Pancras and Kings Cross yet just off the main streets. Our room was warm, clean and comfortable with a plentiful supply of different teas and coffees. The bed was superb! The bathroom was functional with lots of hot water, though it could benefit from some touching up of grouting etc. The full english breakfast and the bacon bap were delicious - high quality produce beautifully cooked. The fresh fruit was delicious and a very generous portion. We also had dinner at The Harrison - one of the best meals we've had for ages. Everything was beautifully cooked and very high quality.
A word of caution: the rooms are up two flights of quite steep stairs so if you don't like stairs, The Harrison may not be for you.

We had a basement apartment for 5 days and it was great. It was modern, clean and bright and had everything we needed for our stay. We arrived out of hours and the arrangements we made with the staff for key collection went without a problem. This will definitely be our accommodation of choice when we are in London

I've stayed at five hotels in Earl's Court over the years, and I find Maranton House to be the BEST by far. I chose it for price, but was surprised how nice it was. The staff is courteous and helpful; the room, although small, was clean and comfortable (including the bed), and it was quiet. The hotel is in a beautiful old converted terrace house, and some of the original features (especially the crown molding and lovely stairway) have been kept. There is excellent internet access in the guest rooms, included in the price. I would be happy to stay here again on my next trip to London.

The Alexander Paddington Apts. are located a short walk from Paddington station as well as several tube stops. This allows for a good variety of transportation options to and from the area. There are several grocery options close by, as well as a wealth of restaurants, and green spaces.
The rooms were clean and more than adequate. The pub below was noisy at times, and outdoor smoking made keeping windows open a challenge in the evenings, but these were only minor inconveniences. Our children found the couch-bed adequate, though I would not recommend it at all for adults (sitting or sleeping). The bed in the bedroom was quite nice.
We could have used some instructions for the washing machine, as the pictographs were not clear to us. The internet was spotty in our unit and there was no phone, so communication could be a challenge. However, being out of touch is not necessarily a bad thing.

The area around Sussex Gardens is made up of dozens of row houses converted to budget hotels. Pacific Hotel is a no frills hotel, but you get a clean, comfortable bed, small bathroom, and a hot breakfast every day. The staff was very helpful and friendly. They knew us on sight after our first stop at the desk. The wireless internet service was a very weak signal, so we were able to use the laptop only in the lobby and breakfast room, but we worked it into our daily plans. The location is wonderful. The hotel is about four city blocks from Paddington Station, so connecting anywhere in London via Tube or train is convenient. The area around the station has plenty of restaurants and pubs, so if the crush of central London has you worn out by evening, you have lots of eating options near the hotel. We actually walked to Hyde Park, Kensington Palace, Harrod's, Oxford Street, even Buckingham Palace from the hotel. If you don't mind dragging your luggage up narrow stairs, and if you can live without air conditioning (come on, London is usually cool and cloudy/damp anyway!), turn on the 3-speed fan provided and enjoy agood night's sleep.

Lovely clean hotel, ideal for just crashing whilst attending any events in central london. Polite friendly staff, nice simple breakfast and well organised rooms. Only issue was hot water took a while to kick but thats hardly a downer! Will definitely be staying there again!
