Over 6 weeks and more than a dozen BnB's, guesthouses, hotels and hostels, we found Hazel's 'Grove Guest House' to be an outstanding stay for value for money and a friendly, warm welcome. Our hostess, Hazel, genuinely likes people and generously shares her home with them. When I arrived I had undergone some tummy problems in France and Hazel made particular efforts to ensure that, despite the shared bathroom we had booked, we had the use of toilet and bathroom to ourselves(this, I suspect, may have been at some inconvenience to herself). She was a great help in organizing a one- day (self guided) tour that took in many of London's sights yet still considered our budget. Her knowledge of London and, particularly, the East end is unequalled. And her hot cooked brekky each morning gave us a great start to the day (Yum, the porridge!)Thanks Hazel.

"Cozy B & B within easy travel distance to London"
At Home B & B was a comfortable and easy place to stay. Rosa is extremely friendly and explains the amenities and home rules up front. Tea, of course, was plentiful. The proprietor keeps a selection of breakfast items on hand for guests and makes self-service much like eating in your own kitchen. Sharing the bathroom facilities wasn't something I was used to, but having a separate toilet helped thin the crowd. I'm pretty sure my room was the smallest (perhaps 6' X 6') but it was very clean and boasted an opening skylight, tv and a closet that was more than sufficient for one person. I would stay again if ever the opportunity presented itself!

A warm, welcoming, friendly atmosphere where the staff really do go 'that extra mile' to make sure you feel welcome. The Harrison is a small gastropub in a quiet residential location within a very easy walk to St Pancras and Kings Cross yet just off the main streets. Our room was warm, clean and comfortable with a plentiful supply of different teas and coffees. The bed was superb! The bathroom was functional with lots of hot water, though it could benefit from some touching up of grouting etc. The full english breakfast and the bacon bap were delicious - high quality produce beautifully cooked. The fresh fruit was delicious and a very generous portion. We also had dinner at The Harrison - one of the best meals we've had for ages. Everything was beautifully cooked and very high quality.
A word of caution: the rooms are up two flights of quite steep stairs so if you don't like stairs, The Harrison may not be for you.
