The largest city on the main island's northern half, Nago (and neighboring Motobu) is the first area in Japan to have cherry blossoms each year. To celebrate, the yearly Cherry Blossom Festival is held in Nago Central Park, which is also home ancient Nago Castle's ruins. A trip to Nago's Pineapple Park offers insight into cultivating and refining the fruit, as well as plenty of food for tasting.
