"Very central and convenient for the train station "
Lovely hotel has more character and appeal than a budget/traveller hotel. Very easy to walk to from the train station and easy to walk into the town centre. Lots of lovely bars and places to eat around the hotel especially if you like real ale!!! Very close to trip the Jerusalem and the Crafty Crow. Of course if you like culture you are right next to the castle. Staff were lovely both in reception and the bar. Being a traveller in a single room the only thing I would say is the room was a little small (110) if you are claustrophobic could be a problem as it has a low ceiling also but the room itself was lovely and clean and comfortable with nice little touches making it more personal. Lovely toiletries (white stuff) and you had a lovely pillow spray if you have difficulty going to sleep. No problems with noise in the room so had a brilliant nights sleep. Would definitely stay again!

The shower was great! That may sound funny, but for an American who had just spent a week and a half staying in small hotel rooms with showers that didn't have curtains or doors to prevent water from getting all over the place, a good shower is a plus!
The breakfast was very nice with lots of selection. That said, we chose to eat in the hotel because they said they had gluten free bread (I have celiac disease) and they didn't have it on the two days mornings I ate there. But I didn't go hungry!
My only complaint is the wifi, which was terrible. You could pay for an upgraded wifi connection, but in this day and age, every hotel should be providing free and good wifi. I mean really, it's a perk that is pretty much expected today.

We were a party of 3 staying for one night. The rooms were small but functional, with all the basic requirements. Walls were very thin and we could hear a lot of noise from the hallways, during the early hours. There is a swimming pool at the hotel but we could not use it, as the pool attendant was not around on Sunday morning. Ok for one night.

Was upgraded to upper deck. Well worth the extra for Starbucks voucher and 10 % off in the hotel. No charge for the pool. Good job really . Quite a number of Kids in the pool on Sunday morning making it more of a public swimming pool rather than a spa.
Stayed for 1 night Saturday to Sunday.
Would stay again.
