"family B&B near park in town"
very clean and cosy ; well appointed, but very noisy neighbours or very thin walls. Lots for breakfast, but my bacon and egg was cold. Close by parking very handy. OK for one night.

"View to die for!"
If you cannot make up your mind for country or sea view, this could be the place for you. Probably 3-5 miles from the coast and I had a seaview room!!

"Short mid-week break"
The hotel is well-situated. It was in well-maintained grounds and easy to drive to Dartmoor, Plymouth or the coast. Our room had a great view across the golf course. The pool area was excellent, better than expected although neither jacuzzi was working. Our room was very large, but the décor was tired and uninspiring. Also would have appreciated a larger TV. We had quite a long wait at reception to check in and at breakfast our order was wrong on both the days that we stayed. I agree with other reviewers and didn't appreciate a cat in the restaurant during breakfast. However all in all I knew what to expect from previous reviews and for me the good points overruled the bad. I would stay again and would bring my dogs next time (that might also encourage the cat to stay outside?)

"Very close to sea front and lovely sea walk"
Our room was very comfortable for a short stay, but limited space for longer. Refurbed bathroom had excellent facilities. Landlady was friendly and accommodating, breakfasts freshly cooked and satisfying. Overall an inexpensive and pleasant 2 day stay for a graduation ceremony on The Hoe.

"Convenient "
On arrival staff were friendly and helpful and showed us to our room, informed us times restaurant was open for meals. We had dinner in the Bistro 38 as d the food was excellent and well presented. There was a good choice for breakfast, again the staff were friendly and had time to chat. Will definitely stay again.

Pocket Guide: Devon Plymouth 3 stars Pet-friendly Hotels

The principal town of the south west, Plymouth is famous for its maritime legacy. The Hoe, where Drake awaited the Armada, overlooks the magnificent harbour (Sound): home to naval dockyards and warships, accessible on sightseeing cruises. The bustling atmospheric Barbican district by the inner harbour, with its narrow streets of Tudor and Jacobean buildings, is where the Pilgrim Fathers sailed from. Visit the Elizabethan House and the Plymouth Gin Distillery, as well as the National Marine Aquarium - one of England’s finest.
