We live in Cancun and go to Playa almost once a month. The property we used to go to closed, so have been looking for a new one. We have never wanted to pay the extra money for a beach front property, we are always out all day at the beach. Kinbe has great rooms, very stylish with balcony overlooking the interior of the property with trees and pool. It was also amazing quiet, something you always have to be careful on 5th Ave, since this is in between the beach and 5th, it is perfect. This will be our new go to for Playa del Carmen get aways.

We caught the ADO Bus from the Cancun airport to Playa del Carmen for $14 U.S. dollars and we only had to walk one block to the Condos. Unit S4 was above Senor Frogs, so you have to go thru there and turn right. There is a locked door with a security code to enter. You have to climb stairs to the 2nd floor, no elevator. You are given a code to open a lock box for your room keys and you leave them in the lock box when you leave. It is a very safe and secure environment. The condo is newly renovated, everything top of the line. It was the cleanest room we have ever stayed in. Beautiful ocean view from balcony with the Cozumel Ferry port right next to us. The music from Senor Frogs can be heard in the evening from the main room, however, the bedroom was quiet. There is a large 5 gallon purified water bottle dispenser with extra ones available as needed. We loved the room and the furnishings! Very friendly village people with beautiful items to purchase in their shops. Instead of a taxi, the guys on the bikes with seats for 2 people took us places like Walmart for $5 each way and waited for us!! We went to on a tour to Xcaret, it cost $129, which included transportation, admission and a great buffet and 2 hour show. You can attend cheaper if you listen to those timeshare presentations, but we avoided those. Elite tours was right across from Senor Frogs and a nice guy named Gabino set up our tour. Xcaret was a beautiful, really enjoyed our stay in Playa del Carmen!

We had a wonderful stay at Aventura Mexicana. The hotel was very clean. Housekeeping, maintenance workers and grounds keepers were around every day making sure everything was taken care of. This hotel is located 1/2 block off of 5th Ave in Playa Del Carmen but very quiet. 3 or 4 blocks to Mamito's beach. Excellent location. We ate at several different places while in Playa and found none that compared to the quality of food that came from the hotels own restaurant "Mayan Bistro". A complimentary breakfast is included in the price of your room. The restaurant staff are all very helpful and friendly. Be sure to check out the Junior Suite on the 2nd floor on the adult side of the hotel. It is like your own private little getaway. Yoga classes run 4 times a day. All in all I would highly recommend this hotel.

This is a very small boutique hotel. It is right on 5th avenue. You can walk out and start shopping to your left or right. Right across the street (no cars allowed), is where you eat breakfast at the Ladybug and it is provided by the hotel. There are trees and plants in the lobby because it is open to the sky. You never have to worry about getting wet though because everywhere you go is covered. We loved it and planning on returning on our next visit. We got there early and they kept our bags until our room was ready and our plan left in the evening and they kept our bags after we checked out until we were ready to leave.

We stayed at Playa Palms for our week-long honeymoon in October and it was absolutely wonderful. We wanted to go to Playa del Carmen not just for the gorgeous beaches but also for the array of activities that can be done in the fairly close vicinity- exploring ancient Mayan ruins and Cinotes, experiencing Mexican culture and landscape, eating delicious tacos from street vendors... so staying at a huge resort was out of the question for us. We wanted to treat ourselves for our honeymoon though, and Playa Palms was the perfect boutique hotel right on the beach, close to the main drag of shops and restaurants. It's very close to car rental places if you want to escape for the day, and it's literally next door to all the best nightlife in town. We stayed in the Ocean Front Studio which was on the top floor and it had incredible unobstructed views of the ocean that you can see while you're in bed. It also had a little loft with a single bed that would be fun for kids but we didn't utilize that at all. Breakfast was delivered to our patio every day, we had a kitchenette and minifridge that we could stock up with snacks so the lack of a hotel restaurant was not an issue at all. The bed was a little hard and our backs were a little sore after 6 days but nothing that a nice waterfront massage couldn't remedy. The staff was attentive and friendly too!
Overall it was incredible stay and I'd definitely recommend Playa Palms to fellow travelers!
