Saint-Jean-de-Luz is a seaside resort and fishing port situated on a sandy bay 13 kilometres north of the Spanish border. The Nivelle River runs along its southern edge. The town is home to the 13th-century Church of St. John the Baptist, a beachside promenade, and a lively town square with summer concerts.
