"Perfect for history and archaeology buffs!"
Remembering that you are staying in what was a monastery, I found it a calm, relaxing stay. The rooms are furnished in simple style, but beds are comfortable and our shower room was very clean and a good size, the windows were tall, as you would expect, therefore able to keep the room cool, the television, if required, only had 5 Italian channels, ( I am near fluent in Italian), but no good otherwise, - could consider BBC 24hr new?! We had breakfast on the roof terrace - wonderful views. Breakfast was adequate, I had a better choice in another 3* hotel (Caserta, May 15). In the main part of the building there are long corridors to reach the rooms, this is where the lift is installed, other areas are accessed by various stairs. There is a restaurant that offers set menus, changing every day, very tasty and reasonably priced. I found the staff very helpful.
The hotel is approx. a 10min walk to the beautiful cathedral of Rome; St John in Lateran. There is the No. 3 Tram
with stops nearly opposite the Hotel. Directly in front of the hotel, across the road , 100mtrs down is a supermarket, also newspaper stand selling transport tickets. The tram passes St Clement church, also in front of the Coliseum et al, a quick tourist viewing.
If you have poor mobility, advise them at time of booking. NB Not all rooms have minibar and/or room safe as advertised, we had to change rooms because of this, The hotel must correct the situation. I will go back!.
