"Very nice and comfy"
This hotel is lovely. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable. There are three train stops within a 1 to 3 mins walk. A gem in Tribeca

The Canal Park Inn

508 Canal Street, New York 10013 - Map
This was a fantastically cozy, vintage hotel. Room size was more than adequate relative to those of similar price and location. Although I have no complaints about the room, I wouldn't recommend this to anyone running an early schedule. There's essentially no staff, and breakfast wasn't served until 8 30. In addition, there was no one available to hold my bags on checkout day so I was stuck bringing them with me to my conference. Main takeaways; great little boutique space to stay for couples, but not a place for those traveling on business.

    Where to stay in SoHo

Pocket Guide: New York SoHo - Tribeca 3 stars Independent Hotels

Starving artists revitalized SoHo and TriBeCa, two former industrial centers. Although the factories are long gone, their cast iron and mason buildings remain, now housing art galleries, high-end retail, and some of the city’s best restaurants. Robert De Niro’s TriBeCa Film Festival helped reestablish the area as a cultural zone after the 9/11 attacks. Nearby, Chinatown expands into Little Italy.
