"Great place near central Sorrento!"
We had a very pleasant stay. This is a charming little house in the centre of a lemon orchard. The location is great, walking distance to central piazza and ferry dock. Room was huge by European standards and so was the en-suite bathroom. Free parking on site, delicious european breakfast. Very reasonably priced compared to adjacent hotels. The only negative comments I have was the check-in timelines create some scheduling challenges, but easily surmountable and for those with temperamental backs might find mattress too springy, but this was common for europe. Otherwise a great experience!!!

"Great location"
Best location 4 mins walk from the railway station, supermarket one one side and a bakery on the other right on the main street. The staff were friendly and very accommodating with information and a few lessons in the Italian language! The room and bathroom were sparkling clean very pleasant house maid, the breakfast the usual Italian fare with cereal and juice was more than adequate. A 10min. Walk past the hotel on the right hand side will bring you to the BEST gelato shop ever, ask for the menu 365 different combinations, one for every day of the year we were told, best bannana split ever! Crepes sooooo yummy all in all enjoyed everything on our 8 nights in Sorrento. Thanks to the Hotel staff! Ciaro!

La Vue D'Or

"Lovely family hotel with stunning views"
This is the second time we have stayed at La Vue D'Or and we were not disappointed with our decision to return to this lovely family hotel, with stunning views. Although not in the actual town of Sorrento the courtesy shuttle bus travels back and forth throughout the day and evening and we did not find it a problem. The local bus passes within feet of the hotel and you can travel easily and reasonably to Positano and Amalfi or to and from the town if you decide not to use the shuttle. The staff are friendly, helpful and speak English. The rooms we have had, have had pleasant décor and have been very clean, with en-suite facilities also very clean and "service cleaned" daily. The pool and pool area are clean and appreciated after a day sight-seeing! Snacks are available during the afternoon and the bar is open from mid-morning to late night. Excursions including Pompeii, Amalfi, Positano, Ravello, Capri etc & taxi's are available through the hotel. Computers are available foc and wifi for own eqpt for small fee. During our stay my daughter unfortunately required emergency medical attention. The staff were exceptional. I cannot speak highly enough of their help and support during this time. They really went over and above expectations. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone wanting to travel to Sorrento or wishing to visit the Amalfi coast. It is the ideal location for sight-seeing with the comfort for relaxation in a welcoming environment on return.

"Friendly and value for money."
All staff very friendly and helpful. The breakfasts are excellent although the room is tight for space at peak time and I would move a couple of tables on to the balcony which has the space. The hotel has a light and airy feel and the balcony to our room was ideal for winding down after the day before the evening meals. I would appreciate an insiders guide to the restaurants because some are second rate tourist traps whilst other provide excellent service and food. On reflection we should have asked!

Palazzo Abagnale

"Welcoming staff, nice room, perfect location"
We stayed at Palazzo Abagnale for three nights on our trip to Sorrento and Rome. The staff was incredibly welcoming from the front desk staff to the breakfast staff. Our room was clean and comfortable. The bathroom was huge. It was relatively quiet, though the hotel is right on the main street of Sorrento so there is some limited street noise in the morning when the city wakes up. The breakfasts were included and were comprised of boiled eggs, meats, cheeses, pastries, cereal, fruit, yogurt, coffee, tea, and juice. The staff would make cappuccinos or espressos if you wanted something other than American coffee. The hotel is secured with a keycard entry, making it safe and secure. Water was hot and plentiful, bed was relatively comfortable, and there was reliable free wireless internet.

"A lovely quant hotel. Plenty of character."
Our 4 day trip to Sorrento was beautiful! We wanted to see all of it but also relax. The Hotel Del Mare was a great hub for this. It's a 15 minute walk to the Piazzo Tasso but not so close that we hear all the hussle and bustle of the centre. Just round the corner is Marina Grande a working fishing port. Close to family run restaurants.

"Amazing location overlooking Sorrento"
We stayed in the "family" room which was like a mini apartment. Most (if not all) rooms have terrace with the amazing view. I happened to get up early one day and witnessed the most amazing sunrise I have ever seen which was directly across from the hotel rooms. I opened the room door and the sun lit up the room to the dismay of my weary crew. Great location if you have a car because it provides flexibity to go into Sorrento or to Positano(45mins)/Amalfi(90 mins) etc in the other direction. They have some parking spots available but when asked what happens if I arrive late and there's no parking spots available - the answer was "we'll find a place for you to park" but we never had any issues. Breakfast was very good for European standards (several cereals, breads including sliced, pastries, cold cuts, cheese, yogurt, hard boiled eggs, 2 types of juice, coffee, milk). BTW - amazing view from breakfast room and hotel terrace. We didn't get to use the pool but it looked fine again with amazing view over Sorrento. Because we were tired from travelling on the first night we used the free pickup and drop off to IL ZUCCHINI(?) - it was great an only 5-10 mins away by car. Well worth it. Having a car the next night allowed us to go into Sorrento for more options. But road closures at night for pedestrians can limit access to Marina Grande area. The bus is an option but we didn't have the luxury of time to spent waiting for buses - traffic in early September was fine.
