I had a great experience at the hotel. The location is good, close to the old part of Montevideo. Staff is friendly and helpful and speaks English. They were also very helpful to book a tour for me. Overall, clean hotel with excellent value for money.

I have stayed at this hotel before in 2007-2008. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. The rooms are clean. It would be a nice addition to have bottled waters in the rooms. The breakfast is great. I will stay here again.

I spent 2 nights at this hotel, and loved it. Diego at the front desk spoke English and was fantastic in offering ideas on things to do and see in MVD. He told me about Greeting Man .... many locals don't even know about this sculpture!
The hotel even loaned me an adapter for my e-reader, no questions asked.
The room was an unusual loft layout, but efficient. Plenty of heat too on those cold nights. The location of the hotel is in the Old City- within walking distance of everything. And many of the bus routes end at the Plaza nearby, so it's easy to get home.
Breakfast was delicious (Illy coffee!) and robust. I give this place five out of 5, except for the night staff who didn't seem to care much about guests.

"City centre convenience, little choice elsewhere."
Despite a re-do this is still a very tired very basic hotel. Mould, brown water, thin windows, weak pillows give it a 2 star at best. There is not much else in this town...but they could do so much better, not a holiday place.
