"Great location and good value"
Room was quite tight with 2 single beds and wardrobe and bathroom at either side. Location was great for trevi fountain, spanish steps and metro stop. Also near some nice restaurants (Osteria restaurant and Colline Ameliane). Breakfast was good - long opening time and good selection of hot and cold buffet foods. Small mini bar in room which was reasonably priced compared with many other hotels. Friendly staff. Computers and printers available to book tickets. Hotel didn't try to make money by pushing us to buy expensive trips through them. Quiet rooms even though we were on a busy road. Shutters and windows blocked out sound. Only odd things were they didn't replace a used glass despite clearly taking care to clean and tidy the room. Also we said they didn't need to wash towels daily (i don't think it's very eco friendly!) but they continued to give fresh towels each day. I would return here again.

"Great location and spacious, comfortable rooms"
In a nice old building in Rome in a quiet street off a main road. The main road has great bus line for getting around and a tabacco shop where you can buy you bus tickets. There is an awesome little elevator which I thought had heaps of character - it's like an open air cage. They are only on the second floor so you can always walk up. The building itself has intercom system and the reception is 24 hours. Staff are nice and helpful. They had a reasonable breakfast and it was included in our room fee. We definitely took advantage of this and filled up. It's a small breaky room but no one was ever in there with us. It's nice and central to lots of stuff. You can walk to capunchin crypt, Trevi fountain, Spanish steps etc. bed was comfy and our room was spacious. The rooms are maybe a bit dated but perfect condition and clean and comfortable. Very nice little restaurant downstairs that will do take away if you just want to veg in your room.

Where to stay in Via Veneto

Pocket Guide: Rome 3 stars Via Veneto Independent Shopping Hotels

Made famous by 'La Dolce Vita' film in 1960, the Via Veneto is going through a glamorous renaissance. Bars, restaurants, chic hotels and boutiques all vie for attention in the street which coined the expression 'paparazzo' – the surname of the photojournalist in the film. Nearby, the Spanish Steps are the place for lovers' trysts, shopping, and honing the Italian art of 'dolce far niente' – idling and people-watching.
