This hotel is very comfortable and has many very good facilities. The location is great too with many nice attractions and good places to eat nearby. Moreover, the staff were very friendly and they knew the local area very well too - I would certainly recommend staying here.

Traveling with a 2 year old across Ireland requires a more spacious room with at least a double and a twin bed, access to small things like milk, and activities (pool). This hotel was very accommodating and its location next to a beach was fun for rock tossing and access to town. I'm also very susceptible to waking from noise and the staff went out of their way to find the perfect room for the 3 of us. I'd book there again in a minute!!

"Great hotel to relax and take in the countryside"
Glasson Hotel is a scenic and beautiful area surrounded by a golf course and Lough (lake). It is a family owned and operated hotel. We met Mom, Dad and daughter, who actually helped carry my bag. The staff is warm and friendly and that comes from the owners.
The general manager stopped by to chat one day at lunch and upon hearing of where we were headed pulled out his cell and called ahead to have an acquaintance meet up with us. It turned out to be the highlight of our entire Irish holiday.
Glasson & Athlone are in the center of Ireland and are less 'touristy' than Dublin, Galway or Cork so if you are interested in seeing part of the Irish countryside and meet with the locals we highly recommend staying here. We were thrilled with our stay and sorry to leave.

Carmel was a gracious host though we only stayed for a few hours. The breakfast was good and filling. What is more, she had little rolls and beverages in our room in case we had a craving to satisfy.
Carmel also recommended a nearby small town known for its art shops. Good recommendation!
