One of the best stays in a hotel ever. from the moment we arrived the staff were outstanding, helpfull, friendly, informative and very willing to go out of their way.
The hotel is ideally located, 5 minutes away from the centre of town and Battle Green.
The Complimentary breakfast was both a pleasant surprise and outstanding in the attached Artisan restaurant. great choice of organic and high quality food.

The location can't be beat. Directly across the street from Faneuil Hall/ Quincy Market, and two blocks to the Aquarium and boats. Restaurants are everywhere. A street market sets up on the sidewalk in front of the hotel, (directly under the front rooms) with fresh fruit and veggies. So it's a fun, busy, active area. The hotel itself has a funky, smallish, trendy lobby, then the rooms surprised us by being quite large, beautifully appointed, and very elegant. Some of the rooms have a cute "Juliet" balcony with French doors and flower baskets. There is even a little dressing room area with a vanity and closet off the bathroom that women will immediately claim as their territory! Nice, upscale (but expensive) restaurant attached. Not much of a bar area but a glass of wine can be gotten and enjoyed easily enough, before heading out on the town. All Boston hotels are expensive but this one was less than similar hotels in the area. The only negative is the same reason it's a positive… it's on a busy street, right next to Faneuil Hall. On a hopping Saturday night, there is definitely some street noise their windows and the balcony doors just can't block out. (Maybe bring earplugs if you are light sleeper and there on a weekend.) But overall, we were very pleased with our decision to stay here and would definitely stay here again.

Our four day stay at the Onyx Hotel was flawless; the staff was helpful and kind, the rooms were very clean and the 5 o'clock wine hour a lovely perk. It is also centrally located for easy access to some great sights.

Great place to stay if you want to be close to all activities in Boston.
It is a bit noisy. Not from the subways, but from normal big city noise.
It seems to echo down the street and I think it may be around the corner from a fire station.
Many sirens. It became funny at a certain point during the night.
But, you can not beat the location. If you have only a short time in Boston, consider the Ames Boston Hotel.
