Recommended: We were very happy with our stay at the Parc Thistle, especially for the low price I was able to get on Expedia. Although it's a bit harrowing to get there via driving, we were so happy with the central location of the hotel (right on the main pedestrian street). The lobby is very snazzy as is the hotel bar, but the best part of the hotel was the rooms. They seem to have been refurbished recently and the showers especially were beautiful! Not recommended: I liked that the hotel was historic in nature, the staff were GREAT! The bed was the most uncomfortable thing I have ever been on. For the price, was unhappy. Location was good, very centrally located to what my needs were. Would recommend and go back if the bed situation were corrected. Recommended: We stayed at the Copthorne Cardiff for a weekend in March 2009. From the moment they let me check in earlier than usual to the friendly bar service to a great meal in the restaurant, we enjoyed every moment in the hotel. We shall return if ever in the area. Recommended: We were very satisfied with this hotel's service and amenities. It is, however, undergoing a renovation so our breakfast was in a temporary room with no windows or view. There is also major construction going on all around, and it was a challenge to identify the main entrance. Once inside, no problem. There were lots of places to eat very closeby, though as noted in other reports, the row of pubs on one side was noisy until 4 am. Recommended: Park Inn Cardiff City Center is a great value in Cardiff. Close to the train station and downtown. Rooms are basic, but they are comfortable and quiet. Our room included dinner and breakfast which was ideal. Good food and friendly service and atmosphere. Only negative is that there is construction across the street and they start early in the morning. Would definately come back here. It didn't break the budget. See all reviews for this hotel
