What a cute gem of an hotel in a great city centre location. Perfectly convenient for getting anywhere in town or using as a base for meetings. Very friendly staff who were well organised and managed to host us on a good meeting day. A very comfortable stay.

Fantastic 5 star find and Expedia special rate was an incredible bonus but you need a car to get there and around. Once off the highway it's one road but you've got 30 minutes of climbing with lots of turns. Plan to get there in the daytime until you learn the road. Elegant and modern building, full spa, outdoor pool and beautifully appointed rooms and common areas. Surrounded by golf course and vineyard perched on the northface of Mt. Etna volcano. You see the steam rising and snow on the cap. 45-60 minutes from Taormina (don't miss it) Giardini Naxos(the beaches city).Plenty to chose for breakfast and all staff friendly and helpful. A/C; good size washroom; good beds; fridge and mini bar; flastscreen LCD etc. and our room had a patio with good privacy. Place is absolutely spotless. Some of the artwork was "interesting". They offer dinner but we ate out.

"Very nice centrally located hotel in heart of city"
The hotel has beautiful opulent features elevating it to a 4 star, with a great location, minutes walk from Piazza Duomo you couldn't be more centrally located. Very friendly and helpful staff all of whom have a good grasp of English. Great Wi-Fi which is free & beautiful buffet breakfast with a gorgeous view oft hectic. Couldn't ask for much more, but if you want to hire a car be mindful of the €15 euro a night parking fee, well what would you expect you are practically staying in the equivalent of the trafalgar square of Catania and parking is a premium, I found the local buses just as useful to travel. We stayed with 2 rooms my 5 year old daughter and my mum and we loved it

Primarily, it was the friendliness of the staff (plus the local shop-keepers and the other guests!) that stood out - an extremely amenable and amiable place to stay.
A couple of points to note - the hot tub shown in the website photos is only for the use of people staying in the penthouse suite, so don't expect that.
Secondly, the pool is lovely but not enormous - if you were planning lengths in an Olympic sized pool, this ain't for you. That said, the pool is located in a great little sun-trap but with enough shady spots to either choose to sun-bathe or cool off, it was really clean and plenty big and deep enough for three teenagers (plus the other guests) to lark about in.
Thirdly, the location is out in the suburbs of town with no amazing restaurants nearby (but the local pizza, patisserie and fish restaurant have decent food at very low prices) - but town is either 15 mins by bus or a 30 min hike away... You can take a taxi, and if you do ask the hotel to book it. Hailing a cab on the street is massively expensive (even by London standards). Or, take the free shuttle bus laid on by the hotel - either to the town centre or to the beach (the bus leaves the hotel at 10 am, and returns at 4:30pm so there is not much flexibility there - we used the free bus in the morning on some days and returned via public bus or taxi on some days).
Hotel decor is fab - my eldest said it was as if we had a rich Italian friend and we were staying in his home!!
