"Great Spa Hotel excellent food with a view of Etna"
The location is very rural, in the Bove Valley north of Etna, a wine growing region, really very remote and has a spectacular back drop of the northern side of Etna the nearest town is Linguaglossa. Located 11 miles from Taormina and only about 15 minutes off the toll road.
An ideal location for trekking into the volcanic regions and getting away from everything, the views are great and facilities very good indeed, the spa and restaurant at the hotel are both recommended.
The menu offers a four course set meal with local wine (very good) at 45 Euro, A la Carte is more expensive but very good indeed, be warned you actually get 6/7 courses with the extra bits thrown in, top quality stuff.
A car is a must have and be warned many of the local roads just cease to exist without warning, a amp is needed as sat nav keeps dropping out, the staff were very helpful and really friendly English being spoken by most.
Easy drive to Etna cable car (via toll road) about an hour, the same to the airport, 25 minutes to Taormina (don't drive in Taormina park at the lower cable car is not a driving place!).
All in all a lovely setting for a few days break in a very luxurious hotel spa we would certainly return and recommend.

Spent 5 nights here. Very relaxing hotel and the owners were extremely kind and helpful. Ate here twice but should have done so more as the food was lovely. Nice small pool and rustic gardens. Would certainly recommend this hotel for a quiet relaxing break.

Fantastic 5 star find and Expedia special rate was an incredible bonus but you need a car to get there and around. Once off the highway it's one road but you've got 30 minutes of climbing with lots of turns. Plan to get there in the daytime until you learn the road. Elegant and modern building, full spa, outdoor pool and beautifully appointed rooms and common areas. Surrounded by golf course and vineyard perched on the northface of Mt. Etna volcano. You see the steam rising and snow on the cap. 45-60 minutes from Taormina (don't miss it) Giardini Naxos(the beaches city).Plenty to chose for breakfast and all staff friendly and helpful. A/C; good size washroom; good beds; fridge and mini bar; flastscreen LCD etc. and our room had a patio with good privacy. Place is absolutely spotless. Some of the artwork was "interesting". They offer dinner but we ate out.

We stayed here at the end of our Sicilian trip and used it as a base for both the north and south approach to Etna. It was just the bit of luxury we needed. The hotel really is perched on the edge of the cliff with moth a large pool (looking out to sea) and steps in to the sea complete with sea front solarium.
The rooms have everything you need, the standard is fairly basic but does the job the classic is that little bit more comfortable ( we were upgraded part was through the stay due to faulty air conditioning).
There are two bars the more atmospheric on being down by the pool/ sea. The restaurant was nice but a little limited I. Selection and quite expensive for what you get. There however is an amazing pizzeria about 5 mins walk away so you won't go hungry.
All in all a very enjoyable and relaxing few days.

The staff could not have done more to be helpful, I'd arranged to take my son and Husband (to a football match but was unable to secure tickets but the staff on reception kept trying for me and got details and phoned ahead to venue to pick them up.
Also recommened going to visit Toarmina which was the most beautiful place to visit, only 1 hour from city on bus and stunning scenery a very pleasant part of Italy that you can go on a cable car down to the beach.
Hopefully going back one day

Would recommend at least staying 1-2 days. Staff tried to be accommodating but it was hard because we didn't know the language. Mattresses definitely need to be replaced. Pool was great. Staff failed to tell us there was an 18 yr old party our 2nd night there. Of course it was right outside of our bedroom windows and the main property. We were really tired and getting up early the next morning. Instead, we drank wine, provided by the owner and slept in. We were really surprised that breakfast was so unhealthy and dinner didn't have any salad or much in the way of vegetables unless you love eggplant. At any rate, it was a relaxing view and if you are going to unwind, it is perfect. Just plan on about 30-45 min to get to town.
