The Palomar was perfect for my husband and I in Chicago for the first time. Plenty of non-stop people watching from the street level terrace. Complimentary wine-hour at 5pm to top-off your day of adventure or start your evening with a touch of elegance. Surprisingly good coffee (also tea) in the morning to get you started. Big bonus - located one block from an actual grocery store to pickup supplies or buy a bunch of grapes when you're burnt out from too much vacation living.
Flights in to Chicago O'Hare were cancelled (due to the guy who set the control tower on fire) and we couldn't get to Chicago until the next day. We were passed our free cancellation window, but they waived our first night for all five rooms. So very generous, understanding, and HUMAN of them to do. THANK YOU! Also, the rooms were fantastic and the staff was genuinely friendly and helpful. My only regret was not having more time to enjoy the room. I'll definitely be back.

The check in experience was very friendly and efficient and I was pleased with my 10th floor, city view kingsize room. It has everything you need, finished in nice contemporary furnishings. Good TV, good bed and great bathroom. The location is also excellent, 35-40 minutes from the airport and within 2 mins walk of the Magnificent Mile.
Front of house team, concierges etc are all really good and take care of your needs. Check out service was ultra fast, in fact maybe a little too fast. A slighter warmer check out experience would be nice but it's a minor niggle. Finally, please include bottled water in the room. At this level of hotel and at these prices, there should be complimentary water in the rooms.
Will return on my next trip to Chicago.

I had a conference at Northwestern. The hotel was on the same block. The Magnificent Mile was one block the other way with multiple shopping locations and restaurants within walking distance. The front staff was extremely friendly and greeted me by name several times during my stay. I would stay here again and would highly recommend this hotel to my friends.
