"Perfect haven for a stay in busy Cape Town"
What a gorgeous place. A very thoughtfully put together AND thoughtfully run hotel. Strictly speaking this is probably best described as a boutique hotel or very large guesthouse. If you want a spa, mini-bar etc, like a big Radisson or something, this isn't for you. They also don't do dinner, albeit there are some lovely restaurants close by (try Da Vinci's, it was great). However, if you want beautiful, stylish, tasteful AND homely place to stay, then this is it. The rooms (we got a large suite, which was more than ample for us, but not massive by "suite" standards) were incredibly well appointed. They even give you a mobile phone for the duration of your stay, which is a really nice touch and as a newbie to Cape Town, was a real comfort to know that you could always call a taxi when you're out and about. The breakfasts were also great, with a good choice of hot and cold foods.
The hotel is full of rich, stylish furnishings, beautiful paintings etc and it has good facilities (pool, hot tub, honesty bar, free tea/coffee, biscuits, marshmallows etc!) However, not to take away from the hotel itself, but the best thing about this place is the STAFF. Vuyo, Tim, Thando and all of the other staff we met, were so warm and friendly, that you instantly felt at home. They were so helpful and nothing was too much trouble. Our whole stay was effortless, which is what you want when you're away. We, as a couple, prefer smaller boutique hotels/guesthouses, so this perfect
