The taxi driver had a hard time finding the hotel, along the road there was a lot of shabby
structures, the sign for the hotel was small. I didn't know what to expect . Once I stepped
inside ,it was absolutely stunning a hidden paradise , beautiful relaxing setting , next to the
river and the mountains. I highly recommend it , you wouldn't be disappointed .

Casa Del Sol is perfectly situated right next to the flowing river of Machu Picchu. All the shops and restaurants are perfectly accessible. The food provided was delicious, and our room was glorious. We had the bedroom suite and it was very well decorated, clean, and modern.

This hotel is an oasis in the Sacred Valley with lovely grounds. The restaurant is very nice. The staff is extremely helpful- they were responsive to emails before we arrived and provided great assistance while we were there. We went to the train for Machu Picchu from here one day and a tour of the Sacred Valley the next day.

I can't say enough good things about this facility. Luxuriously appointed, on a quiet street and superbly attentive staff. The rooms are beautiful though a little small. Every element of the operation is geared to facilitating the tourist; even breakfast is served at five A.M to accommodate those off early for Macchu Piccu. As well appointed a retreat as any I've ever found.

Worth to stay if you come all the way to enjoy Machu Picchu. My mum and I entered twice, 1st day enjoy Machu Picchu in the afternoon till closure, most of the tourists were already gone so you can take great pictures without people around, no need to worry about bus to go back to the village. Next day we got to the Machu Picchu entrance at 5:30 and nobody was there, advantage of staying at this hotel! Staffs were so caring and remember each guests name, food & wine, activity and of course room facility, thanks to this stay our stay becomes more than our expectation!
Muchisimas gracias desde Japon!

WE stayed here our first day in Cusco. The staff is very welcoming and helpful, from the mate de coca on arrival to finding us electrical tape for a last-minute camera fix! The food and setting at the restaurant were also great, and the location is convenient to the Plaza de Armas, supermarkets, and pharmacies. WE enjoyed it more than the more than the more-expensive hotel we stayed in when we returned.

This 100+ year-old restored/renovated/modernized hotel provides a pristine setting for a wonderful, enjoyable experience. It is quiet quiet quiet!! The lovely garden sitting areas, the inner courtyard, and the ambiance provide unforgetable memories. We wouldn't stay anywhere else if we repeated this journey 10 more times! The rooms are rustically comfortable, but the bathrooms are strikingly modern - from the stone-wall enclosed shower (how refreshing was the shower with strong pressure/flow to provide a massage-like experience. The monestary's chapel provided for even quieter moments. Can you say "peaceful calm?" The downside? The hotel staff need to be re-trained; their attitude is lackadaisical at best and their interaction with guests is best characterized as "detached." Nobody seemed to take ownership for screw-ups. Taxi arrangements - made twice, and in both English and Spanish - fell through the cracks. We three waited for naught, in the rain at the train station, for the pre-arranged taxi that never came. No apology, no excuses, nothing! (other than "I'll pass this one to the responsible (irresponsible?) person. Stay here for the charm and memories, but do NOT relay upon hotel staff....do everything yourself and you'll come away with a great hotel experience.
