I stayed here for one night jn the middle of May. Normally I tend to stay in the same accommodation during a stay in a city but when I decided to visit Durban as part of a South African trip I fancied a whole day in the Berea and the rest of my stay on the beach and the areas outside Durban. This property is an old colonial house split into spacious and beautifully appointed guest rooms. The owners have done well to maintain a colonial feel to the entire location and the guests have access to beautiful and relaxing sitting rooms and reading areas, a verandah style breakfast area, a compact and attractive pool area and on honesty bar set up like an old style English pub. Colonial style did not mean a lack of modern amenities and free wifi, flat screen TV and air con was available. Breakfast buffet was very good, with cooked breakfast prepared and brought to me. This really is a beautiful guest house with a very relaxing feel to it and a high level of creature comforts. There are lots of dining and drinking options nearby. Although somewhat removed from the centre of the city, this is no issue if you have your own transport or wish to use the cooler Berea as your base in Durban.

It was a wonderful place to stay- the room is great with a fantastic mattress, the room is dark at night and the bathroom a delight. Everyone is very friendly and helpful, the garden is very pretty and the food delicious. Will definitely stay there again. Janette

Came for Comrades 2015. Wanted a quiet location. The second floor room overlooked Florida road which was very noisy the night before Comrades. This is a great location and in a safe area, but take a ground floor room facing the inner courtyard - you will have a better sleep! Hotel itself was fine, the staff were great. The restaurant was also very nice with great staff and some tasty food (although limited - I am a vegetarian and there were not a lot of options)

Chris and Jill are lovely people who went out of their way to enure our comfort and happiness. The room was comfortable immaculately clean and tidy with a lovely view over their immaculate garden and swimming pool.
The breakfast was delicious.
