After a very long flight and over an hours wait in the immigration line, our shuttle driver was waiting for us with a sign and a bottle of water each. We felt welcomed from the first minute. The hotel itself is lovely. It has an old cathedral in the back and scenes of current life in the front. We very much enjoyed our stay and would stay there again

Weather you are coming back from the Galapagos or Montanita, this is a great place to gear back up to city living without feeling that your vacation is over.
Perfect for a "lay-over" stay or a spa/wine retreat, but too secluded to be a hotel to see Guayaquil.

"Super Family Friendly Hotel. Excellent location."
Staff at Unipark was so good to us. We were traveling with our 5 year old daughter, and they went out of their way to make her stay special - hot chocolate at breakfast, extra water and chocolates in the room. They even sent an adorable Unipark teddy bear up to the room for her. "Osito" is her favorite keepsake from our trip!
We loved waking up every morning to the view of the Cathedral and the iguanas basking in the trees at Parque Seminario across the street. It is a short, easy walk to the Municipal Palace and the Malecon 2000 from the hotel.
The hotel is part of a complex called Unicentro, which has eateries, shops, boutiques, ATMs, a bank and more, all accessible without leaving the building. Do a web search for Unicentro Guayaquil for more info.
Breakfast buffet had an excellent selection. I am really going to miss having ceviche for breakfast every morning! Room service comes from the same restaurant as breakfast, and was always deliscious.
I used the excercise room to lift once while we were there. Weights are old school, but they get the job done. Mostly, I ran outside at the Malecon (lovely and felt safe as solo female runner). I recommend taking a cell phone pic of the sign by the 5th floor elevator so you know when the excersize room is open. Hours vary.
Initial musty smell of entry and 2nd floor reception unavoidable in Guayaquil's hot, humid climate. Do not be put off. Rooms are clean and by 3rd day we no longer noticed.

The shuttle was waiting for us in the Airport, then it was a short ride to the hotel. As soon as we enter, we receive a complimentary cocktail fruit. I asked for an upgrade, and the lady in the lobby granted it to me. The facilities in the Hotel where good; clean rooms, great beds, nice shower, small but comfortable swimming pool and gym. Prices were reasonable, and the big plus of this Hotel its that it has a shopping mall few meters away. Also they offer safe transportation. Good choice.

It was a wonderful experience to me traveling the first time to this country and good memories by staying at this hotel. My business friend had suggested this hotel to me and it was worth staying at this hotel. The service of the hotel was par excellence starting from the airport pick up, the reception staff and the waiters at the restaurant. I was first given a room facing the mountain and i asked the Bell boy Maximo (Max) to change the room facing the river side and he instantly did it speaking to the reception staff and he went all the way explaining about the hotel and the amenities.
The restaurant served mouth watering food and i enjoyed tasting couple of dishes. The waiter Charles at the restaurant was forthcoming and explained about the fruit served in one of the dish and also some information about the city. He apologized for not speaking good English which was humble of him.
The hotel had an area called 'Wyndham Stadium' which was showing the football matches live and it was great to watch sitting in the sofa.

Despite all the warnings Guayaquil was safe, friendly and a wonderful experience. However, to ensure a happy ending to any venture outside the hotel please be sure to use the hotel cabs. Also, never mind the tour books telling you ATMs are everywhere- they are not!
