"Good hotel close to Underground"
I must have gotten a good deal because I didn't expect the hotel to look like it did. It was a larger hotel than I expected, with a top hatted doorman eager to help with your bags. Upon getting to our rooms we had a little trouble getting inside as the key card worked but the door would not open. Someone had to come up and show us the trick. We saw multiple people having the same issue. You also have to insert your key card in the light mechanism for the electricity to come on. A little prompting on this would have been helpful. The room was definitely small by US standards, but it wasn't too tight for a London hotel. WiFi was available for a fee. Breakfast was served, but appeared to be a little pricey for us. The staff was ultra professional and helpful. The hotel is one block from the Kensington High Street underground line, which was very convenient. There is also shopping close by on High Street and Church Street.

Pocket Guide: London Kensington 4 stars Spa Hotels

Upscale, residential Kensington is best known for its palace and gardens, and for its major museums in South Kensington —the Natural History Museum, the Science Museum, and the V&A. Earl’s Court has a wide selection of budget and mid-range hotels, clustered around Earl’s Court exhibition centre. Its Underground station offers good links (District and Piccadilly lines) with trains running to central London and south-west to Wimbledon.
