Booked this at the last minute. Didn't know what to expect.
Got a very pleasant suprise when we arrived.
It is superb. Our room could only be described as luxurious.
The welcome was even more so, even though it was a busy time.
The best advice I can give is: Have the breakfast. You will not regret it (unless you are on a diet).
The restaurant is closed on Mondays, so we can't comment on that.
Excellent food is available in Ginkel though. Try "De Imperator".

We arrived in Maastricht to see Andre Rieu on Sunday. Arriving at the hotel, you sense that this will be no ordinary hotel experience. You can't help but want explore the cathedral space that is the lobby as the friendly staff leads you to the front desk, it's awe inspiring. Even better than the photos. Staff were never short of being polite and friendly, and will see that you have the utmost enjoyable stay there. This hotel also offers an amazing home style burger with an assortment of desserts for room service, which is perfect when the sky is pouring down onto the cobbled streets below and you have everything you need under the one roof of where you are staying. Fantastic hotel and will advise that if you ever plan to visit Maastricht the once, this is the Hotel to stay at.

Nicely surprised! Located on a quiet square in town, not far from the river - garage parking nearby. Really exciting that the hotel has their own museum of Roman ruins in the basement - also the breakfast room! That in itself is a great reason to stay in the hotel

This hotel is fantastic...it's a beautiful former Chateau located right outside (approx. 3km) of city center Valkenburg and 15 minutes from Maastricht. The hotel provides a free shuttle to Maastricht, so you don't have to worry about traffic. Everyone there was extremely friendly, and the rooms were fantastic. I'm not sure if we'll ever return to Valkenburg, but if we do, we're staying here agian.

A lovely hotel excellently located for Maastricht's charming city centre......and all that it has to offer the city breaker is a few minutes walk away. The bedroom had the most comfortable hotel bed we've ever slept in...and although yes some of the room's decor was showing signs of wear it felt shabby chic rather than scruffy. Our first floor front facing room had beautiful 3/4 length windows which we could open out and indulge in people watching.....which seems to be the principal occupation in this city from the numerous cafe terraces. Highly recommended.

Rather than this being a hotel, le virage has four self contained rooms above a resturant. I stayed in one of them. I arrived during the day when the restruarnt was closed but there was a clear telephone number to call and the owner came very quickly to let me into my room. The location is excellent, in the beautiful cobbled central part of Maastricht. I didn't have an issue with noise as it is on a quiet corner. As a female lone traveller I felt very safe. The room had everything I needed, tea making facilities and free wifi and the ability to buy wine by the galss from the resturant and take up to the room although there was a fridge if you wanted more food and drink than that. Would be an ideal place to book all four rooms if you are going in a group.
