"Great location, worth a try"
The newly opened Thompson is well located and convenient to many neighborhood restaurants. European in feel and extremely comfortable. Rooms are somewhat generous in size but not large by some standards. This property is worth a try but not if you are wanting a truly luxury experience.

"Overall a great stay"
This is an old hotel that has hosted many famous people. It's a little away from heart of Michigan Ave but that's ok if you don't want all that noise, traffic and thousands of people around. Some of my bathroom fixtures didn't work properly but the hotel engineer fixed it once requested. The hvac is also not very accurate. I had a king suite which had a few extra closets which was really awkward since that space is relatively useless and should be converted into a sitting room/work area. I liked it and met all my expectations.

"Great hotel central to everything in Chicago"
If you're looking for a place to stay in Chicago that is central to everything, this is the spot! My husband and I visited for the weekend and wanted to stay somewhere that was walking to distance to almost everything. If you are good with walking, I would say everything is within 20 minutes walk max (the pier, millenium park, shopping on State St. and Michigan Ave. etc and many many restaurants). If you wanted to take a cab, the hotel always has someone to help out with getting one for you. The room is spotless and very well maintained. I have zero complaints! There is a club directly outside the hotel which may seem to be noisy while you're outside but once you are in your room, it is complete silence. Our room was even next to a group of maybe 3 other rooms that were a bit more 'rowdy' but we honestly didn't even notice them once our door was closed. Would definitely stay here again!

"Fab hotel in a very cool part of Chicago"
Amazing hotel with wonderful staff. Stayed there for 7 nights last week. Rooms and the rest of the hotel are beautiful. Added bonus were the chic bikes you're allowed to use out front for free to explore Chicago. Location is great, a walk away from everything. Would highly recommend. Only thing I could suggest is if they did transfers to and from the airport!
