Was a super stay in a very unique hotel. Everything was excellent from all aspects (food, staff, facilitites, service...etc). Me and my wife have had really a relaxing stay with a super friendly service.

Very nice, small resort with nice nature and beautiful ocean. Very nice and helpfull stuff. We didn't like very much that people may smoke anywere they want.. At least in restaurant it would be nice to abstain for other people comfort.. Italian island, so most guests were italians, maybe based on that - the animation was in italian. A lot guests from Germany as well. Some english, some other countries, so animation in italian was hardly understandable. Food - excelent, full of variety, fresh, tasty. Overall - very nice holiday destination !!!

It was our first stay in an island. And we stayed in a water villa for 2 nights. Stay was very nice. Room was good. The first advantage of water villa we felt was we can do snorkelling just underneath/next to the villa (something like private).

When i first openend my eyes in the morning and walked out to the balcony, all my daily stress from work just dissipated into mid air as I absorbed the beauty of the surreal island...and with the wooden staircase leading to the crystal clear waters right from my own balcony, nothing could be more perfect!! It was just how I imagined paradise would be...and when night falls, the twinkling stars in the sky takes over the beauty and tranquility of this island and I even managed to see a shooting star during my stay. Just too amazing for words...

Booked the Superior Beach 89 which had a great view to the sea and easy access to the reef. Also only booked half board which was the best option for us. We had what we wanted which included full snorkel equipment hire and the night fishing and still saved several hundred pounds on the full board option. Happy hour allowed for the drinks to be reasonable and the food was plentiful at breakfast and evening meal. Actually the food was excellent, so much to chose from and lots of local traditional dishes. Massive advantage, no Russians trying to push in and eat all the food!!
Snorkeling was awesome with so many different fish so never got bored. We arrived in a storm and left in a storm but the 6 days in between were just sun sun sun! In my opinion the extra cost of the sea bungalow and deluxe (detached) are not worth the money. The superior bungalows were excellent and great location.

Staff friendly, drinks expensive (same as anywhere in Maldives), excursions reasonably priced - night fishing was fun, boat transfer was expensive (same as anywhere in Maldives).
There are about 5 restaurants on the island, if your meals are included you can eat from the main lodge buffet - the food was nice enough, prices at the other restaurants aren't ridiculous.
Great island for snorkeling, we had tons on fish just 5 meters from our villas door.
Good for wildlife... Lizards, fish, reef sharkes, massive fruit bats that are out during the day.
Good place for all, we went as a family, obviously the majority of people are couples, although we did see more people holidaying on there own than we expected to see.

After an initial poor experience with the transfer from the airport, having to wait 45 mins for a journey of no more than 5 mins, the hotel exceeded our limited expectations ( having previously stayed in a transit hotel just around the corner). The staff were very willing to help, and even put on a breakfast for us way before their official time.
Our beach view room was compact, but clean and tidy.
The view was excellent- and even included a pod of dolphins swimming past and jumping out of the water!

For people who usually stay in 2 to 3 star hotels, Kaani Beach Hotel on Maafushi is for you. It gives you the opportunity to visit different resorts every day. Staff at reception will organise that for you on daily basis. Kaani Beach Hotel uses its own speed boats at a reasonable cost. You are then required to pay an entry fee at the resort to use their facilities and it usually includes lunch. In this order, I recommend 1. Kandooma Holiday Inn, 2. Rihiveli Resort and 3. Fahilhohi Resort. By doing as I have suggested so far, as a tourist, you get it good from both worlds. Firstly, you stay on a village island at a reasonable cost for accommodation and during the day, you can enjoy a resort style facilities and only pay an entry fee which vary from place to place. For breakfast and dinner, Kaani Beach Hotel provides good local meals at a cheap price.
