We knew the hotel was located some distance from central Naples so were prepared for having to use taxis as we were not hiring a car. Thanks to other travellers' advice we also knew we should call the hotel on arrival at the airport for them to send a taxi to collect us as this would be cheaper. This worked like a dream and we later found out it was complimentary! Hotel was very quiet during our stay but we made good use of the lovely pool and tennis courts (there is also a new gym and indoor pool next door due to open soon). Breakfast was included which was buffet style, plenty to choose from. We also ate in the restaurant which was very good and not too expensive. Staff were very helpful and friendly. There is a small parade of shops outside which has a mini supermarket. There is nowhere to really walk to near the hotel apart from a great restaurant Vesuvio and a bar, otherwise you have to get a taxi, the nearest train station is about 3km away. Hotel very accommodating with providing transfers into town, taxi costs around 30 euros to get back. Would definitely recommend this hotel particularly if you had your own car.

We recently had a City break in Naples and spent it in The Excelsior. The hotel is located in a great location, looking onto the Castel dell'Ovo that has restaurants and bars, looking over a small harbour. Turn right out of the hotel is a long promenade that runs parallel to the ocean, again with daytime and evening entertainment. Excellent for people watching. The restaurant/bar on the 7th floor of the hotel is a must, for wonderful views and fantastic wine and food. Nothing was too much trouble, the hotel was very quiet. Rooms large and spacious, although the walls rather thin as could hear neighbouring conversations. Nevertheless would stay there again abc recommend.

The staff was great. They have free parking for guests. Free internet. The Spa is superb. The public beach across the street is dirty and junky. However you are within very short walking distance to much cleaner ones. The breakfast was excellent and very good restaurants all over. The pizza place two doors down is fantastic! I will definitely stay here again

This was our second time staying in this great hotel within the heart of the wonderful city of Naples & again it's been a wonderful & memorable break. The hotel location is excellent, a short walk from train and bus hubs of Piazza Garabaldi, situated on the edge of the historical centre for all our touristy needs, but also located within a local friendly neighbourhood, offering access to plenty of local shops, bars, cafes and restaurants. The hotel staff are wonderfully friendly, always helpful and highly professional. Our room was ideal, facing the inside courtyard, very comfortable and peaceful - ideal for relaxing in after a day discovering the delights of Naples.
However, I do have one small criticism and that is the quality of the breakfast, at 12euro per person, the quality of food and coffee on offer should be of a much higher standard!!
But this didn't detract from my overall impression that this is a great hotel & we will be returning again and again

we were very concerned when we arrived at the hotel. It is difficult to find and the taxi had troubles getting there. However, when we went inside, it was a different experience. The hotel staff were extremely helpful and informative. The room was great (a little hotter than we preferred- so we have some noise from the street because we kept the window open) and the breakfast was one of the nicest we had on our vacation. I would recommend this hotel to anyone that wants to get out and walk the old streets of Naples and experience the street life and pizza.

Very comfortable hotel with good access from train station. Staff were friendly and helpfull. The disadvantage is that the hotel is located in an unattractive area with no restaurants in easy walking distance. Although the hotel provides a large compimentary breakfast, lunch is problematic and the dining room on premises offers only a very expensive dinner menu.

Two blocks from Metro, this hotel is in a safe residental area far from the tourist harbor area that is loud, fast and frequently dangerous. The staff is attentive and very helpful. Desk clerk actually went with me next door to phone store and translated so that I could add minutes to my European cell phone.
